Zephaniah 1:2-4

The Great Day of the Lord
2 I will completely sweep away everything
from the face of the earth(A)—
this is the Lord’s declaration.
3 I will sweep away people and animals;(B)
I will sweep away the birds of the sky
and the fish of the sea,
and the ruins[a] along with the wicked.(C)
I will cut off mankind
from the face of the earth.
This is the Lord’s declaration.
4 I will stretch out my hand(D) against Judah
and against all the residents of Jerusalem.
I will cut off every vestige of Baal(E)
from this place,
the names of the pagan priests(F)
along with the priests;

2 (A)“I will utterly sweep away everything
from the face of the earth,” declares the Lord.
3 “I will sweep away (B)man and beast;
I will sweep away the birds of the heavens
and (C)the fish of the sea,
and (D)the rubble[a] with the wicked.
I will (E)cut off mankind
from the face of the earth,” declares the Lord.
4 “I will stretch out my hand against Judah
and against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem;
(F)and I will cut off from this place the remnant of Baal
and the name of the idolatrous priests along with the priests,
