Zechariah 2
Revised Geneva Translation
I lifted up my eyes again, and looked, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.
Then I said, “Where are you going?” And he said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, so that I may see what its width is, and its length.”
And behold, the Angel that talked with me went forth. And another angel went out to meet him,
and said to him, “Run! Speak to this young man, and say, ‘Jerusalem shall be inhabited without walls, because of the multitude of men and cattle in it!
‘For I,’ says the LORD, ‘will be to her a wall of fire all around and will be the Glory in the midst of her.
‘Ho, ho! Come forth and flee from the land of the North!’ says the LORD, ‘for I have scattered you to the four winds of the heaven,’ says the LORD.
‘Save yourself, O Zion, who dwells with the daughter of Babel!’
“For thus says the LORD of Hosts: ‘After this glory he has sent Me to the nations which plundered you. For he who touches you, touches the apple of His Eye.
‘For behold, I will lift up My Hand upon them. And they shall be a spoil to those who served them. And you shall know that the LORD of Hosts has sent me.
‘Rejoice and be glad, O daughter Zion! For lo, I come, and will dwell in the midst of you,’ says the LORD.
“And many nations shall be joined to the LORD on that day and shall be My people. And I will dwell in the midst of you. And you shall know that the LORD of Hosts has sent me to you.
“And the LORD shall inherit Judah, His portion, in the Holy Land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.
“Let all flesh be still before the LORD! For He is raised up out of His Holy Place!”
