¹⁸ If the Egyptian people do not go up and take part, they will have no rain. The Lord^[a] will bring on them the plague^(A) he inflicts on the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles.^(B)

¹⁶ then I will do this to you: I will bring on you sudden terror, wasting diseases and fever^(A) that will destroy your sight and sap your strength.^(B) You will plant seed in vain, because your enemies will eat it.^(C)

²² The Lord will strike you with wasting disease,^(A) with fever and inflammation, with scorching heat and drought,^(B) with blight^(C) and mildew, which will plague^(D) you until you perish.^(E)
