God’s People Cleansed
13 “On that day a fountain(A) will be opened for the house of David and for the residents of Jerusalem, to wash away sin and impurity.(B) 2 On that day”—this is the declaration of the Lord of Armies—“I will remove the names of the idols from the land, and they will no longer be remembered.(C) I will banish the prophets[a] and the unclean spirit from the land. 3 If a man still prophesies, his father and his mother who bore him will say to him, ‘You cannot remain alive because you have spoken a lie in the name of the Lord.’ When he prophesies, his father and his mother who bore him will pierce him through.(D) 4 On that day every prophet will be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies; they will not put on a hairy cloak(E) in order to deceive. 5 He will say, ‘I am not a prophet; I work the land, for a man purchased[b] me as a servant since my youth.’(F) 6 If someone asks him, ‘What are these wounds(G) on your chest?’[c]—then he will answer, ‘I received the wounds in the house of my friends.’
7 Sword, awake against my shepherd,
against the man who is my associate—
this is the declaration of the Lord of Armies.
Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered;(H)
I will turn my hand against the little ones.
8 In the whole land—
this is the Lord’s declaration—
two-thirds[d] will be cut off and die,
but a third will be left in it.
9 I will put this third through the fire;
I will refine them as silver is refined
and test them as gold is tested.(I)
They will call on my name,
and I will answer them.(J)
I will say, ‘They are my people,’
and they will say, ‘The Lord is our God.’”(K)

13 Zu der Zeit wird das Haus David und die Bürger zu Jerusalem einen freien, offenen Born haben wider die Sünde und Unreinigkeit.
2 Zu der Zeit, spricht der HERR Zebaoth, will ich der Götzen Namen ausrotten aus dem Lande, daß man ihrer nicht mehr gedenken soll; dazu will ich auch die Propheten und unreinen Geister aus dem Lande treiben;
3 daß es also gehen soll: wenn jemand weiter weissagt, sollen sein Vater und seine Mutter, die ihn gezeugt haben, zu ihm sagen: Du sollst nicht leben, denn du redest Falsches im Namen des HERRN; und werden also Vater und Mutter, die ihn gezeugt haben, ihn zerstechen, wenn er weissagt.
4 Denn es soll zu der Zeit geschehen, daß die Propheten mit Schanden bestehen mit ihren Gesichten, wenn sie weissagen; und sollen nicht mehr einen härenen Mantel anziehen, damit sie betrügen;
5 sondern er wird müssen sagen: Ich bin kein Prophet, sondern ein Ackermann; denn ich habe Menschen gedient von meiner Jugend auf.
6 So man aber sagen wird zu ihm: Was sind das für Wunden in deinen Händen? wird er sagen: So bin ich geschlagen im Hause derer, die mich lieben.
7 Schwert, mache dich auf über meinen Hirten und über den Mann, der mir der Nächste ist! spricht der HERR Zebaoth. Schlage den Hirten, so wird die Herde sich zerstreuen, so will ich meine Hand kehren zu den Kleinen.
8 Und soll geschehen im ganzen Lande, spricht der HERR, daß zwei Teile darin sollen ausgerottet werden und untergehen, und der dritte Teil soll darin übrigbleiben.
9 Und ich will den dritten Teil durchs Feuer führen und läutern, wie man Silber läutert, und prüfen, wie man Gold prüft. Die werden dann meinen Namen anrufen, und ich will sie erhören. Ich will sagen: Es ist mein Volk; und sie werden sagen HERR, mein Gott!

Cleansing From Sin
13 “On that day a fountain(A) will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse(B) them from sin and impurity.
2 “On that day, I will banish the names of the idols(C) from the land, and they will be remembered no more,”(D) declares the Lord Almighty. “I will remove both the prophets(E) and the spirit of impurity from the land. 3 And if anyone still prophesies, their father and mother, to whom they were born, will say to them, ‘You must die, because you have told lies(F) in the Lord’s name.’ Then their own parents will stab the one who prophesies.(G)
4 “On that day every prophet will be ashamed(H) of their prophetic vision. They will not put on a prophet’s garment(I) of hair(J) in order to deceive.(K) 5 Each will say, ‘I am not a prophet. I am a farmer; the land has been my livelihood since my youth.[a]’(L) 6 If someone asks, ‘What are these wounds on your body[b]?’ they will answer, ‘The wounds I was given at the house of my friends.’
The Shepherd Struck, the Sheep Scattered
7 “Awake, sword,(M) against my shepherd,(N)
against the man who is close to me!”
declares the Lord Almighty.
“Strike the shepherd,
and the sheep will be scattered,(O)
and I will turn my hand against the little ones.
8 In the whole land,” declares the Lord,
“two-thirds will be struck down and perish;
yet one-third will be left in it.(P)
9 This third I will put into the fire;(Q)
I will refine them like silver(R)
and test them like gold.(S)
They will call(T) on my name(U)
and I will answer(V) them;
I will say, ‘They are my people,’(W)
and they will say, ‘The Lord is our God.(X)’”
