⁹ the Lord’s own portion was his people,
    Jacob his allotted share.^(A)

    for he is the one who formed all things,
and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance;
    the Lord of hosts is his name.^(A)

    the people whom he has chosen as his heritage.^(A)
