For Hashem shall comfort Tziyon; He will comfort all her ruins; and He will make her midbar like Eden, and her ruins like the Gan (Garden) of Hashem; sasson and simchah shall be found therein, todah, and the kol zimrah (the sound of singing).

Pay heed unto Me, O My people; and give ear unto Me, O My Nation; for torah [42:4] shall go forth from Me, and I will set at rest [establish] My mishpat as Ohr Amim (Light for the Nations).

For the Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.

My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.

The Lord will surely comfort(A) Zion(B)
    and will look with compassion on all her ruins;(C)
he will make her deserts like Eden,(D)
    her wastelands(E) like the garden of the Lord.
Joy and gladness(F) will be found in her,
    thanksgiving(G) and the sound of singing.

“Listen to me, my people;(H)
    hear me,(I) my nation:
Instruction(J) will go out from me;
    my justice(K) will become a light to the nations.(L)
My righteousness draws near speedily,
    my salvation(M) is on the way,(N)
    and my arm(O) will bring justice to the nations.
The islands(P) will look to me
    and wait in hope(Q) for my arm.
