14 şi să nu(A) se ţină de basme evreieşti şi de porunci(B) date de oameni, care se întorc de la adevăr. 15 Totul(C) este curat pentru cei curaţi, dar, pentru cei(D) necuraţi şi necredincioşi, nimic nu este curat: până şi mintea şi cugetul le sunt spurcate. 16 Ei se laudă că cunosc pe Dumnezeu, dar cu(E) faptele Îl tăgăduiesc, căci sunt o scârbă: nesupuşi şi netrebnici pentru(F) orice faptă bună.

14 and will pay no attention to Jewish myths(A) or to the merely human commands(B) of those who reject the truth.(C) 15 To the pure, all things are pure,(D) but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure.(E) In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.(F) 16 They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him.(G) They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.(H)

14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
