36 A prevaricação do ímpio fala no íntimo do seu coração; não há temor de Deus perante os seus olhos. 2 Porque em seus olhos se lisonjeia, até que a sua iniquidade se mostre detestável. 3 As palavras da sua boca são malícia e engano; deixou de entender e de fazer o bem. 4 Maquina o mal na sua cama; põe-se em caminho que não é bom; não aborrece o mal.
5 A tua misericórdia, Senhor, está nos céus, e a tua fidelidade chega até às mais excelsas nuvens. 6 A tua justiça é como as grandes montanhas; os teus juízos são um grande abismo; Senhor, tu conservas os homens e os animais. 7 Quão preciosa é, ó Deus, a tua benignidade! E por isso os filhos dos homens se abrigam à sombra das tuas asas. 8 Eles se fartarão da gordura da tua casa, e os farás beber da corrente das tuas delícias; 9 porque em ti está o manancial da vida; na tua luz veremos a luz.
10 Estende a tua benignidade sobre os que te conhecem, e a tua justiça sobre os retos de coração. 11 Não venha sobre mim o pé dos soberbos, e não me mova a mão dos ímpios. 12 Ali caem os obreiros da iniquidade; cairão e não se poderão levantar.

Gott kennen ist Leben!
36 Von David, dem Diener des Herrn.
2 Der Gottlose wird durch und durch von der Sünde beherrscht;
die Ehrfurcht vor Gott ist ihm völlig fremd.
3 Er bildet sich viel zu viel auf sich ein,
um sein Unrecht einzusehen oder es gar zu hassen.[a]
4 Was er sagt, ist Lug und Trug.
Längst hat er aufgehört, vernünftig zu handeln und Gutes zu tun.
5 Selbst wenn er im Bett liegt, schmiedet er finstere Pläne.
Bewusst hat er sich für das Böse entschieden
und lässt sich nicht von seinem falschen Weg abbringen.
6 Herr, deine Güte ist unvorstellbar weit wie der Himmel,
und deine Treue reicht so weit, wie die Wolken ziehen.
7 Deine Gerechtigkeit ist unerschütterlich wie die mächtigen Berge,
deine Entscheidungen sind unermesslich wie das tiefe Meer.
Mensch und Tier erfahren deine Hilfe, Herr!
8 Wie kostbar ist deine Güte, o Gott:
Bei dir finden Menschen Schutz und Sicherheit.
9 Aus dem Reichtum deines Hauses schenkst du ihnen mehr als genug,
mit Freude und Glück überschüttest du sie.[b]
10 Denn du bist die Quelle – alles Leben strömt aus dir.
In deinem Licht sehen wir das wahre Licht.
11 Erhalte deine Liebe denen, die dich kennen,
und erweise deine Treue allen, die dir aufrichtig dienen!
12 Lass nicht zu, dass hochmütige Menschen mich mit Füßen treten
und dass gottlose Verbrecher mich fortjagen!
13 Da! Die Unheilstifter stürzen zu Boden
und sind unfähig, wieder aufzustehen!

For the director of music. Of David the servant of the Lord.
1 I have a message from God in my heart
concerning the sinfulness of the wicked:[b](A)
There is no fear(B) of God
before their eyes.(C)
2 In their own eyes they flatter themselves
too much to detect or hate their sin.(D)
3 The words of their mouths(E) are wicked and deceitful;(F)
they fail to act wisely(G) or do good.(H)
4 Even on their beds they plot evil;(I)
they commit themselves to a sinful course(J)
and do not reject what is wrong.(K)
5 Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness(L) to the skies.(M)
6 Your righteousness(N) is like the highest mountains,(O)
your justice like the great deep.(P)
You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.(Q)
7 How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!(R)
People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.(S)
8 They feast on the abundance of your house;(T)
you give them drink from your river(U) of delights.(V)
9 For with you is the fountain of life;(W)
in your light(X) we see light.

Den ogudaktiges ondska och Herrens godhet
1 För sångmästaren, av Herrens tjänare David.
2 I mitt hjärta hör jag vad synden viskar till den ogudaktige.
Det finns ingen gudsfruktan inför hans ögon.
3 Han förringar inför sig själv
att man skall upptäcka och hata hans brott.
4 Hans muns ord är ondska och svek,
han vill inte göra det som är förståndigt och gott.
5 Ondska tänker han ut på sin bädd,
han går den väg som inte är god,
han skyr inte något ont.
6 Herre, upp i himlen räcker din nåd,
din trofasthet ända till skyarna.
7 Din rättfärdighet är som väldiga berg,
dina domar som det stora havsdjupet.
Både människor och djur räddar du, Herre.
8 Hur dyrbar är inte din nåd, Gud!
Människors barn har sin tillflykt under dina vingars skugga.
9 De mättas av de rika gåvorna i ditt hus,
av din ljuvlighets ström ger du dem att dricka.
10 Ty hos dig är livets källa,
i ditt ljus ser vi ljus.
11 Låt din nåd förbli över dem som känner dig
och din rättfärdighet över de rättsinniga.
12 Låt inte de högmodigas fot komma över mig
eller de ogudaktigas hand driva bort mig.
13 Där ligger ogärningsmän fallna,
nerstötta utan att kunna resa sig.
