11 Han skall dra fram genom ett hav av nöd,
havets vågor skall han näpsa,
och alla Nilflodens djup skall torka ut.
Assurs stolthet skall brytas ner
och spiran tas ifrån Egypten.
12 Jag skall göra dem starka i Herren,
och i hans namn skall de gå fram,
säger Herren.

11 They will pass through the sea of trouble;
the surging sea will be subdued
and all the depths of the Nile will dry up.(A)
Assyria’s pride(B) will be brought down
and Egypt’s scepter(C) will pass away.(D)
12 I will strengthen(E) them in the Lord
and in his name they will live securely,(F)”
declares the Lord.

11 (A)He shall pass through the sea with affliction,
And strike the waves of the sea:
All the depths of [a]the River shall dry up.
Then (B)the pride of Assyria shall be brought down,
And (C)the scepter of Egypt shall depart.
12 “So I will strengthen them in the Lord,
And (D)they shall walk up and down in His name,”
Says the Lord.
