29 For those whom he (A)foreknew he also (B)predestined (C)to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be (D)the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also (E)justified, and those whom he justified he also (F)glorified.

God's Everlasting Love

31 What then shall we say to these things? (G)If God is for us, who can be[a] against us? 32 (H)He who did not spare his own Son but (I)gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? (J)It is God who justifies. 34 (K)Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—(L)who is at the right hand of God, (M)who indeed is interceding for us.[b] 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written,

(N)“For your sake (O)we are being killed all the day long;
    we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”

Confirm Your Calling and Election

His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him (A)who called us to[a] his own glory and excellence,[b] by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become (B)partakers of the divine nature, (C)having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith (D)with virtue,[c] and virtue (E)with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control (F)with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness (G)with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection (H)with love. For if these qualities[d] are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or (I)unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he (J)is blind, having forgotten that he was (K)cleansed from his former sins. 10 Therefore, brothers,[e] be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and (L)election, for if you practice these qualities (M)you will never fall. 11 For in this way there will be richly provided for you (N)an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

12 Therefore I intend (O)always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in (P)the truth that you have.
