Revelation 22

Paradise Restored

22 And he showed me the river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming out from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 in the middle of its street, and on both sides of the river[a] is the tree of life, producing twelve fruits—yielding its fruit according to every month—and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. 3 And there will not be any curse any longer, and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his slaves will serve[b] him, 4 and they will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5 And night will not exist any longer, and they will not have need of the light of a lamp and the light[c] of the sun, because the Lord God will give light to them, and they will reign forever and ever[d].

The Time of Fulfillment is Near

6 And he said to me, “These words are faithful and true, and the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his slaves the things which must take place in a short time.”

7 “And behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”

8 And I, John, am the one who heard and who saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed these things to me. 9 And he said to me, “Do not do that![e] I am your fellow slave, and of your brothers the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God!” 10 And he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near! 11 The one who does evil, let him do evil still, and the defiled, let him be defiled still, and the righteous, let him practice righteousness still, and the holy, let him be holy still.”

12 “Behold, I am coming quickly, and my reward is with me, to repay each one according to what his deeds are! 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

14 Blessed are the ones who wash their robes, so that their authority will be over the tree of life and they may enter into the city through the gates. 15 Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the sexually immoral people and the murderers and the idolaters and everyone who loves and who practices falsehood.

16 “I, Jesus, sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”

An Invitation to Respond

17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And the one who hears, let him say, “Come!” And the one who is thirsty, let him come. The one who wants, let him take the water of life freely.[f]

A Final Warning

18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues written in this book. 19 And if anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away his share of the tree of life and from the holy city that are written in this book.

20 The one who testifies about these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!

21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all.[g]

22 ثُمَّ أرَانِي المَلَاكُ نَهْرَ مَاءِ الحَيَاةِ. وَكَانَ النَّهرُ شَفَّافًا كِالبِلَّورِ، يَتَدَفَّقُ مِنْ عَرْشِ اللهِ وَالحَمَلِ إلَى وَسَطِ شَوَارِعِهَا. 2 وَعَلَى ضِفَّتَيِّ النَّهرِ هُنَاكَ شَجَرَةُ حَيَاةٍ تُعطِي ثَمَرَهَا اثنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ مَرَّةً: فِي كُلِّ شَهرٍ مَرَّةً، وَأورَاقُهَا لِشِفَاءِ الأُمَمِ. 3 لَنْ تَكُونَ هُنَاكَ لَعنَةٌ بَعْدَ الآنِ، وَعَرشُ اللهِ وَالحَمَلِ سَيَكُونُ فِيهَا. عِبَادُهُ يَتَعَبَّدُونَ لَهُ، 4 وَيَرَوْنَ وَجْهَهُ، وَاسْمُهُ يَكُونُ عَلَى جِبَاهِهِمْ. 5 لَنْ يَكُونَ هُنَاكَ لَيلٌ، فَلَا يَحتَاجُونَ ضَوْءَ مِصبَاحٍ أوْ ضَوْءَ شَمسٍ، لِأنَّ الرَّبَّ الإلَهَ سَيُنِيرُ عَلَيْهِمْ، وَيَسُودُونَ إلَى الأبَدِ.

6 ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي المَلَاكُ: «هَذِهِ الكَلِمَاتُ مُعتَمَدَةٌ وَصَحِيحَةٌ. الرَّبُّ إلَهُ أروَاحِ الأنْبِيَاءِ قَدْ أرْسَلَ مَلَاكَهُ لِيُرِيَ عِبَادَهُ الأشْيَاءَ الَّتِي يَنْبَغِي أنْ تَحْصُلَ سَرِيعًا. 7 هَا أنَا آتِي سَرِيعَا! هَنِيئًا لِمَنْ يَحْفَظُ كَلِمَاتِ النُّبُوَّةِ فِي هَذَا الكِتَابِ.»

8 أنَا يُوحَنَّا الَّذِي سَمِعَ وَرَأى هَذِهِ الأشْيَاءَ. عِنْدَمَا سَمِعْتُهَا وَرَأيْتُهَا، انحَنَيتُ لِأسجُدَ عِنْدَ قَدَمَيِّ المَلَاكِ الَّذِي يُرِينِي هَذِهِ الأشْيَاءَ. 9 لَكِنَّهُ قَالَ لِي: «احذَرْ أنْ تَفْعَلَ هَذَا. أنَا عَبْدٌ مِثْلُكَ أنْتَ وَإخوَتِكَ وَالأنْبِيَاءِ، وَأُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ يَحْفَظُونَ الكَلِمَاتِ الَّتِي فِي هَذَا الكِتَابِ. اسجُدْ للهِ.» 10 ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي: «لَا تَكْتِمْ كَلِمَاتِ النُّبُوَّةِ الَّتِي فِي هَذَا الكِتَابِ، لِأنَّ الوَقْتَ قَدِ اقْتَرَبَ. 11 فَلْيُواصِلِ الظَّالِمُ ظُلمَهُ، وَليَزْدَدِ النَّجِسُ نَجَاسَةً، وَالبَارُّ بِرًّا، وَالمُقَدَّسُ قَدَاسَةً!»

12 «هَا أنَا قَادِمٌ سَرِيعًا، وَمَعِي الأُجرَةُ لِكَي أُجَازِيَ كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ حَسَبَ أعْمَالِهِ. 13 أنَا هُوَ الألِفُ وَاليَاءُ،[a] الأوَّلُ وَالآخِرُ، البِدَايَةُ وَالنِّهَايَةُ. 14 هَنِيئًا لِمَنْ يُحَافِظُونَ عَلَى نَظَافَةِ ثِيَابِهِمْ، لِكَي يَكُونَ مِنْ حَقِّهِمْ أنْ يَأْكُلُوا مِنْ شَجَرَةِ الحَيَاةِ، وَأنْ يَعْبُرُوا البَوَّابَاتِ وَيَدْخُلُوا المَدِينَةَ. 15 أمَّا ‹الكِلَابُ›[b] وَمَنْ يُمَارِسُونَ السِّحرَ وَالزُّنَاةُ وَالقَتَلَةُ وَعَابِدُو الأوْثَانِ وَكُلُّ مَنْ يُمَارِسُ الكَذِبِ، فَسَيَبْقَوْنَ خَارِجًا.»

16 «أنَا يَسُوعُ، أرسَلتُ مَلَاكِي لِيُعلِنَ لَكُمْ هَذِهِ الأُمُورَ عَنِ الكَنَائِسِ. أنَا أصلُ دَاوُدَ وَنَسْلُهُ، نَجمُ الصُّبحِ المُنِيرُ.»

17 يَقُولُ الرُّوحُ وَالعَرُوسُ: «تَعَالَ!» كُلُّ مَنْ يَسْمَعْ فَلْيَقُلْ: «تَعَالَ!» كُلُّ مَنْ يَعْطَشُ فَليَأْتِ، وَكُلُّ مَنْ يُرِيدُ فَليَأْخُذْ مَجَّانًا مِنَ المَاءِ المُحيِي.

18 إنَّنِي أُحَذِّرُ كُلَّ مَنْ يَسْتَمِعُ لِكَلِمَاتِ النُّبُوَّةِ فِي هَذَا الكِتَابِ: إنْ زَادَ أحَدٌ عَلَيْهَا، فَإنَّ اللهَ سَيُنزِلُ عَلَيْهِ الكَوَارِثَ المُدَوَّنَةَ فِيهِ. 19 وَإنْ حَذَفَ أحَدٌ مِنَ الكَلِمَاتِ الَّتِي فِي كِتَابِ النُّبُوَّةِ هَذَا، فَإنَّ اللهَ سَيَحْرِمُهُ مِنْ نَصِيبِهِ فِي شَجَرَةِ الحَيَاةِ وَفِي المَدِينَةِ المُقَدَّسَةِ، المَكْتُوبِ عَنهُمَا فِي هَذَا الكِتَابِ.

20 يَسُوعُ الَّذِي يَشْهَدُ لِهَذِهِ الأُمُورِ يَقُولُ: «نَعَمْ، أنَا آتٍ سَرِيعًا.»

آمِينْ تَعَالَ أيُّهَا الرَّبُّ يَسُوعُ!

21 نِعْمَةُ الرَّبِّ يَسُوعَ مَعَكُمْ جَمِيعًا.

Eden Restored

22 Then the angel showed me the river(A) of the water of life,(B) as clear as crystal,(C) flowing(D) from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life,(E) bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.(F) 3 No longer will there be any curse.(G) The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him.(H) 4 They will see his face,(I) and his name will be on their foreheads.(J) 5 There will be no more night.(K) They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light.(L) And they will reign for ever and ever.(M)

John and the Angel

6 The angel said to me,(N) “These words are trustworthy and true.(O) The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets,(P) sent his angel(Q) to show his servants the things that must soon take place.”

7 “Look, I am coming soon!(R) Blessed(S) is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.”(T)

8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things.(U) And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet(V) of the angel who had been showing them to me. 9 But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll.(W) Worship God!”(X)

10 Then he told me, “Do not seal up(Y) the words of the prophecy of this scroll,(Z) because the time is near.(AA) 11 Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.”(AB)

Epilogue: Invitation and Warning

12 “Look, I am coming soon!(AC) My reward is with me,(AD) and I will give to each person according to what they have done.(AE) 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega,(AF) the First and the Last,(AG) the Beginning and the End.(AH)

14 “Blessed are those who wash their robes,(AI) that they may have the right to the tree of life(AJ) and may go through the gates(AK) into the city.(AL) 15 Outside(AM) are the dogs,(AN) those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

16 “I, Jesus,(AO) have sent my angel(AP) to give you[a] this testimony for the churches.(AQ) I am the Root(AR) and the Offspring of David,(AS) and the bright Morning Star.”(AT)

17 The Spirit(AU) and the bride(AV) say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.(AW)

18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll:(AX) If anyone adds anything to them,(AY) God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll.(AZ) 19 And if anyone takes words away(BA) from this scroll of prophecy,(BB) God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life(BC) and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.

20 He who testifies to these things(BD) says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”(BE)

Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.(BF)

The Time Is Near

Jesus Testifies to the Churches

12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and (W)My reward is with Me, (X)to give to every one according to his work. 13 (Y)I am the Alpha and the Omega, the [f]Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”

14 (Z)Blessed are those who [g]do His commandments, that they may have the right (AA)to the tree of life, (AB)and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 [h]But (AC)outside are (AD)dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

A Warning

I Am Coming Quickly

20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”

Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be [m]with you all. Amen.
