Revelation 19:6-8

⁶Then I heard what sounded like a great many people. It sounded like the noise of flooding water and like loud thunder. The people were saying:

“Hallelujah!
    Our Lord God rules. He is the All-Powerful.
⁷Let us rejoice and be happy
    and give God glory!
Give God glory, because the wedding of the Lamb has come.
    And the Lamb’s bride has made herself ready.
⁸Fine linen was given to the bride for her to wear.
    The linen was bright and clean.”

(The fine linen means the good things done by God’s holy people.)

⁶Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude,^(A) like the roar of rushing waters^(B) and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:

“Hallelujah!^(C)
    For our Lord God Almighty^(D) reigns.^(E)
⁷Let us rejoice and be glad
    and give him glory!^(F)
For the wedding of the Lamb^(G) has come,
    and his bride^(H) has made herself ready.
⁸Fine linen,^(I) bright and clean,
    was given her to wear.”

(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts^(J) of God’s holy people.)

⁶^(A)And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For ^(B)the^[a] Lord God Omnipotent reigns! ⁷Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for ^(C)the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” ⁸And ^(D)to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, ^(E)for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
