⁵ and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness,^(A) the firstborn from the dead^(B) and the ruler of the kings of the earth.^(C)

To him who loves us and has set us free^[a] from our sins by his blood,^{(D) 6} and made us a kingdom,^[b] priests^[c](E) to his God and Father—to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.^(F)

The Saints Reign with Christ

⁴ Then I saw thrones, and people seated on them who were given authority to judge.^(A) I also saw the souls of those^(B) who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus^(C) and because of the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and who had not accepted the mark on their foreheads or their hands.^(D) They came to life^(E) and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.^{(F) 5} The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed.

This is the first resurrection. ⁶ Blessed^(G) and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! The second death^(H) has no power^[a] over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.^(I)

³ and there will no longer be any curse.^(A) The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will worship him. ⁴ They will see his face,^(B) and his name will be on their foreheads.^{(C) 5} Night will be no more;^(D) people will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, because the Lord God will give them light,^(E) and they will reign forever and ever.
