149 Louez l'Éternel! Chantez à l'Éternel un cantique nouveau! Chantez ses louanges dans l'assemblée des fidèles!
2 Qu'Israël se réjouisse en celui qui l'a créé! Que les fils de Sion soient dans l'allégresse à cause de leur roi!
3 Qu'ils louent son nom avec des danses, Qu'ils le célèbrent avec le tambourin et la harpe!
4 Car l'Éternel prend plaisir à son peuple, Il glorifie les malheureux en les sauvant.
5 Que les fidèles triomphent dans la gloire, Qu'ils poussent des cris de joie sur leur couche!
6 Que les louanges de Dieu soient dans leur bouche, Et le glaive à deux tranchants dans leur main,
7 Pour exercer la vengeance sur les nations, Pour châtier les peuples,
8 Pour lier leurs rois avec des chaînes Et leurs grands avec des ceps de fer,
9 Pour exécuter contre eux le jugement qui est écrit! C'est une gloire pour tous ses fidèles. Louez l'Éternel!

2 Let Israel rejoice(D) in their Maker;(E)
let the people of Zion be glad in their King.(F)
3 Let them praise his name with dancing(G)
and make music to him with timbrel and harp.(H)
4 For the Lord takes delight(I) in his people;
he crowns the humble with victory.(J)
5 Let his faithful people rejoice(K) in this honor
and sing for joy on their beds.(L)
6 May the praise of God be in their mouths(M)
and a double-edged(N) sword in their hands,(O)
7 to inflict vengeance(P) on the nations
and punishment(Q) on the peoples,
8 to bind their kings with fetters,(R)
their nobles with shackles of iron,(S)
9 to carry out the sentence written against them—(T)
this is the glory of all his faithful people.(U)

he (K)adorns the humble with salvation.
5 Let the godly exult in glory;

and (O)two-edged swords in their hands,
7 to execute vengeance on the nations
and punishments on the peoples,
