⁴ When I remember these things,
^(A)I pour out my soul within me.
For I used to go with the multitude;
^(B)I went with them to the house of God,
With the voice of joy and praise,
With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast.

^5 (C)Why are you ^[a]cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
^(D)Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him
^[b]For the help of His countenance.

^6 [c]O my God, my soul is cast down within me;
Therefore I will remember You from the land of the Jordan,
And from the heights of Hermon,
From ^[d]the Hill Mizar.
⁷ Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls;
^(E)All Your waves and billows have gone over me.
⁸ The Lord will ^(F)command His lovingkindness in the daytime,
And ^(G)in the night His song shall be with me—
A prayer to the God of my life.

²¹ Thus my heart was grieved,
And I was ^[a]vexed in my mind.
^22 (A)I was so foolish and ignorant;
I was like a beast before You.
²³ Nevertheless I am continually with You;
You hold me by my right hand.
^24 (B)You will guide me with Your counsel,
And afterward receive me to glory.

^25 (C)Whom have I in heaven but You?
And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.
^26 (D)My flesh and my heart fail;
But God is the ^[b]strength of my heart and my ^(E)portion forever.
