Psalm 95-103
New King James Version
A Call to Worship and Obedience
95 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us shout joyfully to Him with (A)psalms.
3 For (B)the Lord is the great God,
And the great King above all gods.
4 [a]In His hand are the deep places of the earth;
The heights of the hills are His also.
5 (C)The sea is His, for He made it;
And His hands formed the dry land.
6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
Let (D)us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
7 For He is our God,
And (E)we are the people of His pasture,
And the sheep [b]of His hand.
(F)Today, if you will hear His voice:
8 “Do not harden your hearts, as in the [c]rebellion,
(G)As in the day of [d]trial in the wilderness,
9 When (H)your fathers tested Me;
They tried Me, though they (I)saw My work.
10 For (J)forty years I was [e]grieved with that generation,
And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts,
And they do not know My ways.’
11 So (K)I swore in My wrath,
‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”
A Song of Praise to God Coming in Judgment(L)
96 Oh, (M)sing to the Lord a new song!
Sing to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Sing to the Lord, bless His name;
Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
3 Declare His glory among the [f]nations,
His wonders among all peoples.
4 For (N)the Lord is great and (O)greatly to be praised;
(P)He is to be feared above all gods.
5 For (Q)all the gods of the peoples are idols,
(R)But the Lord made the heavens.
6 Honor and majesty are before Him;
Strength and (S)beauty are in His sanctuary.
7 (T)Give[g] to the Lord, O families of the peoples,
Give to the Lord glory and strength.
8 [h]Give to the Lord the glory due His name;
Bring an offering, and come into His courts.
9 Oh, worship the Lord (U)in the beauty of holiness!
Tremble before Him, all the earth.
10 Say among the [i]nations, (V)“The Lord reigns;
The world also is firmly established,
It shall not be [j]moved;
(W)He shall judge the peoples righteously.”
11 (X)Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;
(Y)Let the sea roar, and [k]all its fullness;
12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it.
Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice
13 before the Lord.
For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth.
(Z)He shall judge the world with righteousness,
And the peoples with His truth.
A Song of Praise to the Sovereign Lord
2 (AB)Clouds and darkness surround Him;
(AC)Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.
3 (AD)A fire goes before Him,
And burns up His enemies round about.
4 (AE)His lightnings light the world;
The earth sees and trembles.
5 (AF)The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the Lord,
At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
6 (AG)The heavens declare His righteousness,
And all the peoples see His glory.
7 (AH)Let all be put to shame who serve carved images,
Who boast of idols.
(AI)Worship Him, all you gods.
8 Zion hears and is glad,
And the daughters of Judah rejoice
Because of Your judgments, O Lord.
9 For You, Lord, are (AJ)most high above all the earth;
(AK)You are exalted far above all gods.
10 You who love the Lord, (AL)hate evil!
(AM)He preserves the souls of His saints;
(AN)He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.
11 (AO)Light is sown for the righteous,
And gladness for the upright in heart.
12 (AP)Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous,
(AQ)And give thanks [m]at the remembrance of [n]His holy name.
A Song of Praise to the Lord for His Salvation and Judgment
A Psalm.
98 Oh, (AR)sing to the Lord a new song!
For He has (AS)done marvelous things;
His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory.
2 (AT)The Lord has made known His salvation;
(AU)His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the [o]nations.
3 He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel;
(AV)All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4 Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth;
Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises.
5 Sing to the Lord with the harp,
With the harp and the sound of a psalm,
6 With trumpets and the sound of a horn;
Shout joyfully before the Lord, the King.
7 Let the sea roar, and all its fullness,
The world and those who dwell in it;
8 Let the rivers clap their hands;
Let the hills be joyful together
9 before the Lord,
(AW)For He is coming to judge the earth.
With righteousness He shall judge the world,
And the peoples with [p]equity.
Praise to the Lord for His Holiness
99 The Lord reigns;
Let the peoples tremble!
(AX)He dwells between the cherubim;
Let the earth be [q]moved!
2 The Lord is great in Zion,
And He is high above all the peoples.
3 Let them praise Your great and awesome name—
[r]He is holy.
4 The King’s strength also loves justice;
You have established equity;
You have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.
5 Exalt the Lord our God,
And worship at His footstool—
He is holy.
6 Moses and Aaron were among His priests,
And Samuel was among those who (AY)called upon His name;
They called upon the Lord, and He answered them.
7 He spoke to them in the cloudy pillar;
They kept His testimonies and the [s]ordinance He gave them.
8 You answered them, O Lord our God;
You were to them God-Who-Forgives,
Though You took vengeance on their deeds.
9 Exalt the Lord our God,
And worship at His holy hill;
For the Lord our God is holy.
A Song of Praise for the Lord’s Faithfulness to His People
(AZ)A Psalm of Thanksgiving.
100 Make (BA)a joyful shout to the Lord, [t]all you lands!
2 Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
3 Know that the Lord, He is God;
(BB)It is He who has made us, and [u]not we ourselves;
(BC)We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
4 (BD)Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
5 For the Lord is good;
(BE)His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.
Promised Faithfulness to the Lord
A Psalm of David.
101 I will sing of mercy and justice;
To You, O Lord, I will sing praises.
2 I will behave wisely in a [v]perfect way.
Oh, when will You come to me?
I will (BF)walk within my house with a perfect heart.
3 I will set nothing [w]wicked before my eyes;
(BG)I hate the work of those (BH)who fall away;
It shall not cling to me.
4 A perverse heart shall depart from me;
I will not (BI)know wickedness.
5 Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor,
Him I will destroy;
(BJ)The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart,
Him I will not endure.
6 My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land,
That they may dwell with me;
He who walks in a [x]perfect way,
He shall serve me.
7 He who works deceit shall not dwell within my house;
He who tells lies shall not [y]continue in my presence.
8 (BK)Early I will destroy all the wicked of the land,
That I may cut off all the evildoers (BL)from the city of the Lord.
The Lord’s Eternal Love
A Prayer of the afflicted, (BM)when he is overwhelmed and pours out his complaint before the Lord.
102 Hear my prayer, O Lord,
And let my cry come to You.
2 (BN)Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my trouble;
Incline Your ear to me;
In the day that I call, answer me speedily.
3 For my days [z]are (BO)consumed like smoke,
And my bones are burned like a hearth.
4 My heart is stricken and withered like grass,
So that I forget to eat my bread.
5 Because of the sound of my groaning
My bones cling to my [aa]skin.
6 I am like a pelican of the wilderness;
I am like an owl of the desert.
7 I lie awake,
And am like a sparrow alone on the housetop.
8 My enemies reproach me all day long;
Those who deride me swear an oath against me.
9 For I have eaten ashes like bread,
And mingled my drink with weeping,
10 Because of Your indignation and Your wrath;
For You have lifted me up and cast me away.
11 My days are like a shadow that lengthens,
And I wither away like grass.
12 But You, O Lord, shall endure forever,
And the remembrance of Your name to all generations.
13 You will arise and have mercy on Zion;
For the time to favor her,
Yes, the set time, has come.
14 For Your servants take pleasure in her stones,
And show favor to her dust.
15 So the [ab]nations shall (BP)fear the name of the Lord,
And all the kings of the earth Your glory.
16 For the Lord shall build up Zion;
(BQ)He shall appear in His glory.
17 (BR)He shall regard the prayer of the destitute,
And shall not despise their prayer.
18 This will be (BS)written for the generation to come,
That (BT)a people yet to be created may praise the Lord.
19 For He (BU)looked down from the height of His sanctuary;
From heaven the Lord viewed the earth,
20 (BV)To hear the groaning of the prisoner,
To release those appointed to death,
21 To (BW)declare the name of the Lord in Zion,
And His praise in Jerusalem,
22 (BX)When the peoples are gathered together,
And the kingdoms, to serve the Lord.
23 He weakened my strength in the way;
He (BY)shortened my days.
24 (BZ)I said, “O my God,
Do not take me away in the midst of my days;
(CA)Your years are throughout all generations.
25 (CB)Of old You laid the foundation of the earth,
And the heavens are the work of Your hands.
26 (CC)They will perish, but You will [ac]endure;
Yes, they will all grow old like a garment;
Like a cloak You will change them,
And they will be changed.
27 But (CD)You are the same,
And Your years will have no end.
28 (CE)The children of Your servants will continue,
And their descendants will be established before You.”
Praise for the Lord’s Mercies
A Psalm of David.
103 Bless (CF)the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
3 (CG)Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who (CH)heals all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from destruction,
(CI)Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that (CJ)your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 The Lord executes righteousness
And justice for all who are oppressed.
7 (CK)He made known His ways to Moses,
His acts to the children of Israel.
8 (CL)The Lord is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
9 (CM)He will not always strive with us,
Nor will He keep His anger forever.
10 (CN)He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor punished us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He (CO)removed our transgressions from us.
13 (CP)As a father pities his children,
So the Lord pities those who fear Him.
14 For He [ad]knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust.
15 As for man, (CQ)his days are like grass;
As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
16 (CR)For the wind passes over it, and it is [ae]gone,
And (CS)its place remembers it no more.
17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children,
18 (CT)To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them.
19 The Lord has established His throne in heaven,
And (CU)His kingdom rules over all.
20 (CV)Bless the Lord, you His angels,
Who excel in strength, who (CW)do His word,
Heeding the voice of His word.
21 Bless the Lord, all you His hosts,
(CX)You [af]ministers of His, who do His pleasure.
22 Bless the Lord, all His works,
In all places of His dominion.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
