[God has said] “I have made a covenant with My chosen one;
I have sworn to David My servant,
⁴ 
I will establish your seed forever
And I will build up your throne for all generations.”^(A) Selah.

“But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Too little to be among the clans of Judah;
From you One shall come forth for Me [who is] to be Ruler in Israel,
His goings forth (appearances) are from long ago,
From ^[a]ancient days.”^(A)
