though the earth trembles
and the mountains topple

the roar of their waves,

¹² Ah! The roar of many peoples—
they roar like the roaring of the seas.
The raging of the nations—
they rage like the rumble of rushing water.^(A)

³⁰ I will display wonders
in the heavens and on the earth:^(A)
blood, fire, and columns of smoke.
³¹ The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood^(B)
before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.^(C)
