Salmos 38
Nueva Versión Internacional (Castilian)
Salmo de David, para las ofrendas memoriales.
38 Señor, no me reprendas en tu enojo
ni me castigues en tu ira.
2 Porque tus flechas me han atravesado,
y sobre mí ha caído tu mano.
3 A causa de tu indignación
no hay nada sano en mi cuerpo;
por mi pecado,
mis huesos no hallan descanso.
4 Mis maldades me abruman,
son una carga demasiado pesada.
5 A causa de mi insensatez,
mis llagas hieden y supuran.
6 Estoy agobiado, del todo abatido;
todo el día ando acongojado.
7 Estoy ardiendo de fiebre;
no hay nada sano en mi cuerpo.
8 Me siento débil, completamente deshecho;
mi corazón gime angustiado.
9 Ante ti, Señor, están todos mis deseos;
no te son un secreto mis anhelos.
10 Late mi corazón con violencia,
las fuerzas me abandonan,
hasta la luz de mis ojos se apaga.
11 Mis amigos y vecinos se apartan de mis llagas;
mis parientes se mantienen a distancia.
12 Tienden sus trampas los que quieren matarme;
maquinan mi ruina los que buscan mi mal
y todo el día urden engaños.
13 Pero yo me hago el sordo, y no los escucho;
me hago el mudo, y no les respondo.
14 Soy como los que no oyen
ni pueden defenderse.
15 Yo, Señor, espero en ti;
tú, Señor y Dios mío, serás quien responda.
16 Tan solo pido que no se burlen de mí,
que no se crean superiores si resbalo.
17 Cerca estoy de desfallecer;
el dolor no me deja un solo instante.
18 Voy a confesar mi iniquidad,
pues mi pecado me angustia.
19 Muchos son mis enemigos gratuitos;[a]
abundan los que me odian sin motivo.
20 Por hacer el bien, me pagan con el mal;
por procurar lo bueno, se ponen en mi contra.
21 Señor, no me abandones;
Dios mío, no te alejes de mí.
22 Señor de mi salvación,
¡ven pronto en mi ayuda!

A psalm of David. A petition.
1 Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger
or discipline me in your wrath.(A)
2 Your arrows(B) have pierced me,
and your hand has come down on me.
3 Because of your wrath there is no health(C) in my body;
there is no soundness in my bones(D) because of my sin.
4 My guilt has overwhelmed(E) me
like a burden too heavy to bear.(F)
5 My wounds(G) fester and are loathsome(H)
because of my sinful folly.(I)
6 I am bowed down(J) and brought very low;
all day long I go about mourning.(K)
7 My back is filled with searing pain;(L)
there is no health(M) in my body.
8 I am feeble and utterly crushed;(N)
I groan(O) in anguish of heart.(P)

my sighing(R) is not hidden from you.
10 My heart pounds,(S) my strength fails(T) me;
even the light has gone from my eyes.(U)

my neighbors stay far away.
12 Those who want to kill me set their traps,(W)
those who would harm me talk of my ruin;(X)
all day long they scheme and lie.(Y)
13 I am like the deaf, who cannot hear,(Z)
like the mute, who cannot speak;
14 I have become like one who does not hear,
whose mouth can offer no reply.
15 Lord, I wait(AA) for you;
you will answer,(AB) Lord my God.
16 For I said, “Do not let them gloat(AC)
or exalt themselves over me when my feet slip.”(AD)
17 For I am about to fall,(AE)
and my pain(AF) is ever with me.
18 I confess my iniquity;(AG)

lodge accusations(AL) against me,
though I seek only to do what is good.

Psalm 38
New King James Version
Prayer in Time of Chastening
A Psalm of David. (A)To bring to remembrance.
38 O Lord, do not (B)rebuke me in Your wrath,
Nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure!
2 For Your arrows pierce me deeply,
And Your hand presses me down.
3 There is no soundness in my flesh
Because of Your anger,
Nor any health in my bones
Because of my sin.
4 For my iniquities have gone over my head;
Like a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
5 My wounds are foul and festering
Because of my foolishness.
6 I am [a]troubled, I am bowed down greatly;
I go mourning all the day long.
7 For my loins are full of inflammation,
And there is no soundness in my flesh.
8 I am feeble and severely broken;
I groan because of the turmoil of my heart.
9 Lord, all my desire is before You;
And my sighing is not hidden from You.
10 My heart pants, my strength fails me;
As for the light of my eyes, it also has gone from me.
11 My loved ones and my friends (C)stand aloof from my plague,
And my relatives stand afar off.
12 Those also who seek my life lay snares for me;
Those who seek my hurt speak of destruction,
And plan deception all the day long.
13 But I, like a deaf man, do not hear;
And I am like a mute who does not open his mouth.
14 Thus I am like a man who does not hear,
And in whose mouth is no response.
15 For [b]in You, O Lord, (D)I hope;
You will [c]hear, O Lord my God.
16 For I said, “Hear me, lest they rejoice over me,
Lest, when my foot slips, they exalt themselves against me.”
17 (E)For I am ready to fall,
And my sorrow is continually before me.
18 For I will (F)declare my iniquity;
I will be (G)in [d]anguish over my sin.
19 But my enemies are vigorous, and they are strong;
And those who hate me wrongfully have multiplied.
20 Those also (H)who render evil for good,
They are my adversaries, because I follow what is good.
21 Do not forsake me, O Lord;
O my God, (I)be not far from me!
22 Make haste to help me,
O Lord, my salvation!
