    will he be indignant to the end?’
Behold, you have spoken,
    but you have done all the evil that you could.”

^(B)“‘Return, faithless Israel,
declares the Lord.
I will not look on you in anger,
    for ^(C)I am merciful,
declares the Lord;
^(D)I will not be angry for ever.

^18 (A)Who is a God like you, ^(B)pardoning iniquity
    and passing over transgression
    ^(C)for the remnant of his inheritance?
^(D)He does not retain his anger for ever,
    because he delights in steadfast love.
