Psalm 27:1
New International Version
Psalm 27
Of David.
Psalm 27:4-9
New International Version
4 One thing(A) I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,(B)
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.
5 For in the day of trouble(C)
he will keep me safe(D) in his dwelling;
he will hide me(E) in the shelter of his sacred tent
and set me high upon a rock.(F)
6 Then my head will be exalted(G)
above the enemies who surround me;(H)
at his sacred tent I will sacrifice(I) with shouts of joy;(J)
I will sing(K) and make music(L) to the Lord.
7 Hear my voice(M) when I call, Lord;
be merciful to me and answer me.(N)
8 My heart says of you, “Seek his face!(O)”
Your face, Lord, I will seek.
9 Do not hide your face(P) from me,
do not turn your servant away in anger;(Q)
you have been my helper.(R)
Do not reject me or forsake(S) me,
God my Savior.(T)
