^7 (K)Lift up your heads, O gates!
    And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
    that ^(L)the King of glory may come in.
⁸ Who is this King of glory?
    The Lord, strong and mighty,
    the Lord, ^(M)mighty in battle!
⁹ Lift up your heads, O gates!
    And lift them up, O ancient doors,
    that the King of glory may come in.
¹⁰ Who is this King of glory?
    ^(N)The Lord of hosts,
    he is the King of glory! Selah

^4 (V)Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
    teach me your paths.
⁵ Lead me in your ^(W)truth and teach me,
    for you are the God of my salvation;
    for you I wait all the day long.

⁶ Remember your ^(X)mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love,
    ^(Y)for they have been from of old.
⁷ Remember not ^(Z)the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
    according to your ^(AA)steadfast love remember me,
    for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!

^8 (AB)Good and upright is the Lord;
    therefore he ^(AC)instructs sinners in the way.
⁹ He leads the humble in what is right,
    and teaches the humble his way.
¹⁰ All the paths of the Lord are ^(AD)steadfast love and faithfulness,
    for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.

¹¹ For your ^(AE)name's sake, O Lord,
    pardon my guilt, for it is ^(AF)great.
¹² Who is the man who fears the Lord?
    Him ^(AG)will he instruct in the way that he should choose.
¹³ His soul shall ^(AH)abide in well-being,
    and his ^(AI)offspring ^(AJ)shall inherit the land.
^14 (AK)The friendship^[c] of the Lord is for those who fear him,
    and he makes known to them his covenant.
¹⁵ My ^(AL)eyes are ever toward the Lord,
    for he will ^(AM)pluck my feet out of the net.

^16 (AN)Turn to me and be gracious to me,
    for I am lonely and afflicted.
¹⁷ The troubles of my heart are enlarged;
    bring me out of my distresses.
^18 (AO)Consider my affliction and my trouble,
    and forgive all my sins.

¹⁹ Consider how many are my foes,
    and with what violent hatred they hate me.
²⁰ Oh, guard my soul, and deliver me!
    ^(AP)Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
²¹ May integrity and uprightness preserve me,
    for I wait for you.

^22 (AQ)Redeem Israel, O God,
    out of all his troubles.

⁴ I do not ^(AZ)sit with men of ^(BA)falsehood,
    nor do I consort with hypocrites.
⁵ I ^(BB)hate the assembly of evildoers,
    and I will not sit with the wicked.

⁶ I ^(BC)wash my hands in innocence
    and go around your altar, O Lord,
⁷ proclaiming thanksgiving aloud,
    and telling all your ^(BD)wondrous deeds.

⁸ O Lord, I ^(BE)love the habitation of your house
    and the place where your glory dwells.
^9 (BF)Do not sweep my soul away with sinners,
    nor my life with bloodthirsty men,
¹⁰ in whose hands are evil devices,
    and whose right hands are full of ^(BG)bribes.

¹¹ But as for me, I shall walk in my integrity;
    redeem me, and be gracious to me.
¹² My foot stands on ^(BH)level ground;
    in ^(BI)the great assembly I will bless the Lord.

² When evildoers assail me
    to ^(BM)eat up my flesh,
my adversaries and foes,
    it is they who stumble and fall.

^3 (BN)Though an army encamp against me,
    my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
    yet^[f] I will be confident.

^4 (BO)One thing have I asked of the Lord,
    that will I seek after:
that I may ^(BP)dwell in the house of the Lord
    all the days of my life,
to gaze upon ^(BQ)the beauty of the Lord
    and to inquire^[g] in his temple.

⁵ For he will ^(BR)hide me in his shelter
    in the day of trouble;
he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;
    he will ^(BS)lift me high upon a rock.

⁶ And now my ^(BT)head shall be lifted up
    above my enemies all around me,
and I will offer in his tent
    sacrifices with shouts of ^(BU)joy;
^(BV)I will sing and make melody to the Lord.

^7 (BW)Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud;
    be gracious to me and answer me!
⁸ You have said, ^(BX)“Seek^[h] my face.”
My heart says to you,
    “Your face, Lord, do I seek.”^{[i]
9     (BY)}Hide not your face from me.
Turn not your servant away in anger,
    O you who have been my help.
Cast me not off; forsake me not,
    ^(BZ)O God of my salvation!
¹⁰ For ^(CA)my father and my mother have forsaken me,
    but the Lord will ^(CB)take me in.

^11 (CC)Teach me your way, O Lord,
    and lead me on ^(CD)a level path
    because of my enemies.
^12 (CE)Give me not up to the will of my adversaries;
    for ^(CF)false witnesses have risen against me,
    and they ^(CG)breathe out violence.

¹³ I believe that I shall look^[j] upon ^(CH)the goodness of the Lord
    in ^(CI)the land of the living!
^14 (CJ)Wait for the Lord;
    ^(CK)be strong, and let your heart take courage;
    wait for the Lord!

³ Do not ^(CR)drag me off with the wicked,
    with the workers of evil,
^(CS)who speak peace with their neighbors
    while evil is in their hearts.
^4 (CT)Give to them according to their work
    and according to the evil of their deeds;
give to them according to the work of their hands;
    ^(CU)render them their due reward.
⁵ Because they ^(CV)do not regard the works of the Lord
    or the work of his hands,
he will tear them down and build them up no more.

⁶ Blessed be the Lord!
    For he has ^(CW)heard the voice of my pleas for mercy.
⁷ The Lord is my strength and ^(CX)my shield;
    in him my heart ^(CY)trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults,
    and with my ^(CZ)song I give thanks to him.

⁸ The Lord is the strength of his people;^[l]
    he is ^(DA)the saving refuge of his anointed.
⁹ Oh, save your people and bless ^(DB)your heritage!
    ^(DC)Be their shepherd and ^(DD)carry them forever.

³ The voice of the Lord is over ^(DG)the waters;
    the God of glory ^(DH)thunders,
    the Lord, over many waters.
⁴ The voice of the Lord is ^(DI)powerful;
    the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

⁵ The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
    the Lord breaks ^(DJ)the cedars of Lebanon.
⁶ He makes Lebanon to ^(DK)skip like a calf,
    and ^(DL)Sirion like a young ^(DM)wild ox.

⁷ The voice of the Lord flashes forth flames of fire.
⁸ The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness;
    the Lord shakes the wilderness of ^(DN)Kadesh.

⁹ The voice of the Lord makes ^(DO)the deer give birth^[o]
    and strips the forests bare,
    and in his temple all cry, “Glory!”

¹⁰ The Lord sits enthroned over ^(DP)the flood;
    the Lord sits enthroned ^(DQ)as king forever.
¹¹ May the Lord give ^(DR)strength to his people!
    May the Lord bless^[p] his people with ^(DS)peace!

⁴ Sing praises to the Lord, O you ^(EA)his saints,
    and ^(EB)give thanks to his holy name.^[r]
5 (EC)For his anger is but for a moment,
    and ^(ED)his favor is for a lifetime.^[s]
(EE)Weeping may tarry for the night,
    but ^(EF)joy comes with the morning.

⁶ As for me, I said in my ^(EG)prosperity,
    “I shall never be ^(EH)moved.”
⁷ By your favor, O Lord,
    you made my ^(EI)mountain stand strong;
you ^(EJ)hid your face;
    I was ^(EK)dismayed.

⁸ To you, O Lord, I cry,
    and ^(EL)to the Lord I plead for mercy:
⁹ “What profit is there in my death,^[t]
    if I go down to the pit?^[u]
Will ^(EM)the dust praise you?
    Will it tell of your faithfulness?
^10 (EN)Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me!
    O Lord, be my helper!”

¹¹ You have turned for me my mourning into ^(EO)dancing;
    you have loosed my sackcloth
    and clothed me with gladness,
¹² that my ^(EP)glory may sing your praise and not be silent.
    O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!

³ For you are my rock and my fortress;
    and for your ^(EW)name's sake you lead me and guide me;
⁴ you ^(EX)take me out of ^(EY)the net they have hidden for me,
    for you are my ^(EZ)refuge.
^5 (FA)Into your hand I commit my spirit;
    you have redeemed me, O Lord, ^(FB)faithful God.

⁶ I ^(FC)hate^[v] those who pay ^(FD)regard to worthless ^(FE)idols,
    but I trust in the Lord.
⁷ I will rejoice and be glad in your steadfast love,
    because you have seen my affliction;
    you have ^(FF)known the distress of my soul,
⁸ and you have not ^(FG)delivered me into the hand of the enemy;
    you have set my feet in ^(FH)a broad place.

⁹ Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am ^(FI)in distress;
    ^(FJ)my eye is wasted from grief;
    my soul and my body also.
¹⁰ For my life is spent with sorrow,
    and my years with sighing;
my strength fails because of my iniquity,
    and ^(FK)my bones waste away.

¹¹ Because of all my adversaries I have become ^(FL)a reproach,
    especially to my ^(FM)neighbors,
and an object of dread to my acquaintances;
    those who see me in the street ^(FN)flee from me.
¹² I have been ^(FO)forgotten like one who is dead;
    I have become like ^(FP)a broken vessel.
¹³ For I ^(FQ)hear the whispering of many—
    terror on every side!—
^(FR)as they scheme together against me,
    as they plot to take my life.

¹⁴ But I ^(FS)trust in you, O Lord;
    I say, “You are my God.”
¹⁵ My ^(FT)times are in your hand;
    ^(FU)rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors!
^16 (FV)Make your face shine on your servant;
    save me in your steadfast love!
¹⁷ O Lord, ^(FW)let me not be put to shame,
    for I call upon you;
let the wicked be put to shame;
    let them go ^(FX)silently to Sheol.
¹⁸ Let the lying lips be mute,
    which ^(FY)speak ^(FZ)insolently against the righteous
    in pride and contempt.

¹⁹ Oh, how abundant is your goodness,
    which you have stored up for those who fear you
and worked for those who take refuge in you,
    ^(GA)in the sight of the children of mankind!
²⁰ In ^(GB)the cover of your presence you hide them
    from the plots of men;
you ^(GC)store them in your shelter
    from the strife of tongues.

²¹ Blessed be the Lord,
    for he has wondrously ^(GD)shown his steadfast love to me
    when I was in ^(GE)a besieged city.
²² I had said in my ^(GF)alarm,^[w]
    “I am ^(GG)cut off from ^(GH)your sight.”
But you heard the voice of my pleas for mercy
    when I cried to you for help.

²³ Love the Lord, all you his ^(GI)saints!
    The Lord preserves the faithful
    but abundantly ^(GJ)repays the one who acts in pride.
^24 (GK)Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
    all you who wait for the Lord!

³ For when I kept silent, my ^(GP)bones wasted away
    through my ^(GQ)groaning all day long.
⁴ For day and night your ^(GR)hand was heavy upon me;
    my strength was dried up^[y] as by the heat of summer. Selah

⁵ I ^(GS)acknowledged my sin to you,
    and I did not cover my iniquity;
I said, “I ^(GT)will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
    and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah

⁶ Therefore let everyone who is ^(GU)godly
    offer prayer to you at a time when you ^(GV)may be found;
surely in the rush of ^(GW)great waters,
    they shall not reach him.
⁷ You are a ^(GX)hiding place for me;
    you preserve me from ^(GY)trouble;
    you surround me with ^(GZ)shouts of deliverance. Selah

⁸ I will ^(HA)instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
    I will ^(HB)counsel you with my eye upon you.
^9 (HC)Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding,
    which must be curbed with ^(HD)bit and bridle,
    or it will not stay near you.
