Hoffnung für Alle
Gott schützt die Schwachen
146 Halleluja – lobt den Herrn!
Ich will den Herrn loben mit ganzer Hingabe,
2 ja, ich will ihn loben, solange ich bin!
Zur Ehre meines Gottes will ich singen mein Leben lang.
3 Setzt euer Vertrauen nicht auf Leute,
die Einfluss haben und Macht ausüben!
Sie sind doch bloß vergängliche Menschen
und können euch nicht retten.
4 Sie werden sterben und zu Staub zerfallen;
und wenn ihr Lebensgeist sie verlässt,
dann vergehen auch all ihre Pläne.
5 Glücklich aber ist der Mensch,
der seine Hilfe von dem Gott Jakobs erwartet!
Glücklich ist, wer seine Hoffnung auf den Herrn setzt!
6 Denn er hat Himmel und Erde geschaffen,
das Meer und alles, was es dort gibt.
Für immer wird er zu seinem Wort stehen!
7 Den Unterdrückten verschafft er Recht,
den Hungernden gibt er zu essen, und die Gefangenen befreit er.
8-9 Der Herr macht die Blinden wieder sehend
und richtet die Niedergeschlagenen auf.
Er bietet den Ausländern Schutz und sorgt für die Witwen und Waisen.
Er liebt alle, die seinen Willen tun,
aber diejenigen, die ihn missachten, führt er in die Irre.
10 Der Herr regiert für immer und ewig.
Zion, dein Gott herrscht für alle Zeit!
Lobt den Herrn – halleluja!

146 Praise the Lord!
Let my whole being[a] praise the Lord!
2 I will praise the Lord with all my life;
I will sing praises to my God as long as I live.
3 Don’t trust leaders;
don’t trust any human beings—
there’s no saving help with them!
4 Their breath leaves them,
then they go back to the ground.
On that very same day, their plans die too.
5 The person whose help is the God of Jacob—
the person whose hope rests on the Lord their God—
is truly happy!
6 God: the maker of heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that is in them,
God: who is faithful forever,
7 who gives justice to people who are oppressed,
who gives bread to people who are starving!
The Lord: who frees prisoners.
8 The Lord: who makes the blind see.
The Lord: who straightens up those who are bent low.
The Lord: who loves the righteous.
9 The Lord: who protects immigrants,
who helps orphans and widows,
but who makes the way of the wicked twist and turn!
10 The Lord will rule forever!
Zion, your God will rule from one generation to the next!
Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord,(A) my soul.
2 I will praise the Lord all my life;(B)
I will sing praise(C) to my God as long as I live.(D)
3 Do not put your trust in princes,(E)
in human beings,(F) who cannot save.
4 When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;(G)
on that very day their plans come to nothing.(H)
5 Blessed are those(I) whose help(J) is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lord their God.
6 He is the Maker of heaven(K) and earth,
the sea, and everything in them—
he remains faithful(L) forever.
7 He upholds(M) the cause of the oppressed(N)
and gives food to the hungry.(O)
The Lord sets prisoners free,(P)
8 the Lord gives sight(Q) to the blind,(R)
the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down,(S)
the Lord loves the righteous.(T)
9 The Lord watches over the foreigner(U)
and sustains the fatherless(V) and the widow,(W)
but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.
10 The Lord reigns(X) forever,
your God, O Zion, for all generations.
Praise the Lord.
