Psalm 141
Protection from Sin and Sinners
A psalm of David.
1 Lord, I call on you; hurry to help me.
Listen to my voice when I call on you.(A)
2 May my prayer be set before you as incense,(B)
the raising of my hands as the evening offering.(C)
3 Lord, set up a guard for my mouth;
keep watch at the door of my lips.(D)
4 Do not let my heart turn to any evil thing
or perform wicked acts with evildoers.
Do not let me feast on their delicacies.(E)
5 Let the righteous one strike me—
it is an act of faithful love;
let him rebuke me—
it is oil for my head;
let me[a] not refuse it.(F)
Even now my prayer is against
the evil acts of the wicked.[b](G)
6 When their rulers[c] will be thrown off
the sides of a cliff,
the people[d] will listen to my words,
for they are pleasing.(H)
7 As when one plows and breaks up the soil,
turning up rocks,
so our[e] bones have been scattered
at the mouth of Sheol.(I)
Proverbs 14:34-35

Driving Out an Unclean Spirit
21 They(A) went into Capernaum,(B) and right away he entered the synagogue(C) on the Sabbath(D) and began to teach.(E) 22 They were astonished(F) at his teaching(G) because he was teaching them as one who had authority, and not like the scribes.
23 Just then a man with an unclean(H) spirit(I) was in their synagogue.(J) He cried out, 24 “What do you have to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth?(K) Have you come to destroy(L) us? I know who you are—the Holy(M) One of God!” (N)
25 Jesus rebuked(O) him saying, “Be silent,(P) and come out of him!” 26 And the unclean spirit threw him into convulsions,(Q) shouted with a loud voice, and came out of him.
27 They were all amazed,(R) and so they began to ask(S) each other, “What is this? A new teaching(T) with authority![a](U) He commands even the unclean(V) spirits,(W) and they obey him.” 28 At once the news about him spread throughout the entire vicinity of Galilee.(X)
Healings at Capernaum
29 As(Y) soon as they left the synagogue,(Z) they went into Simon(AA) and Andrew’s(AB) house(AC) with James(AD) and John.(AE) 30 Simon’s mother-in-law was lying in bed with a fever, and they told him about her at once. 31 So he went to her, took her by the hand, and raised her up.(AF) The fever(AG) left her,[b] and she began to serve(AH) them.(AI)
32 When(AJ) evening came, after the sun had set, they brought to him all those who were sick(AK) and demon-possessed.(AL) 33 The whole town was assembled at the door, 34 and he healed(AM) many who were sick with various diseases(AN) and drove out(AO) many demons.(AP) And he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him.(AQ)
