Psalm 125:3-5

International Children’s Bible

³The wicked will not rule
over those who do right.
If they did, the people who do right
might use their power to do evil.

⁴Lord, be good to those who are good,
whose hearts are honest.
⁵But, Lord, when you punish those who do evil,
also punish those who stop following you.

Let there be peace in Israel.

³The scepter^(A) of the wicked will not remain^(B)
over the land allotted to the righteous,
for then the righteous might use
their hands to do evil.^(C)

⁴Lord, do good^(D) to those who are good,
to those who are upright in heart.^(E)
⁵But those who turn^(F) to crooked ways^(G)
the Lord will banish^(H) with the evildoers.
