    when you marched from the land of Edom,
the earth shook,^(C) the heavens poured,
    the clouds poured down water.^(D)

¹² In wrath you strode through the earth
    and in anger you threshed^(A) the nations.
¹³ You came out^(B) to deliver^(C) your people,
    to save your anointed^(D) one.
You crushed^(E) the leader of the land of wickedness,
    you stripped him from head to foot.

³ The sea looked and fled,^(D)
    the Jordan turned back;^(E)
4 the mountains leaped^(F) like rams,
    the hills like lambs.

    Why, Jordan, did you turn back?

⁷ Tremble, earth,^(H) at the presence of the Lord,
    at the presence of the God of Jacob,
⁸ who turned the rock into a pool,
    the hard rock into springs of water.^(I)
