Proverbs 29:7-9

⁷ The righteous know the cause of the poor. The wicked do not discern knowledge.

⁸ Scoffers ensnare a city. But wise men turn away wrath.

⁹ If a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether he is angry or laughing, there is no rest.
