Proverbs 28:21-23

²¹To show favor is not good, because a man will sin for a piece of bread.

²²A man with a sinful eye hurries to be rich. He does not know that he will be in need.

²³He who speaks strong words to a man will later find more favor than he who gives false respect with his tongue.

New International Version

²¹To show partiality^(A) is not good^(B)—
yet a person will do wrong for a piece of bread.^(C)

²²The stingy are eager to get rich
and are unaware that poverty awaits them.^(D)

²³Whoever rebukes a person will in the end gain favor
rather than one who has a flattering tongue.^(E)

²¹To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress.

²²He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.

²³He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.
