12 If you say, “But we didn’t know about this,”
won’t he who weighs hearts(A) consider it?
Won’t he who protects your life(B) know?
Won’t he repay a person according to his work?(C)

13 Eat honey,(D) my son, for it is good,
and the honeycomb is sweet to your palate;(E)
14 realize that wisdom is the same for you.(F)
If you find it, you will have a future,
and your hope will never fade.(G)

12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

13 My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:
