¹¹An evil person seeks only rebellion,
but a cruel messenger will be sent against him.

¹²Rather meet a bear robbed of its cubs
than encounter a fool in his folly.
¹³Evil will not depart from the house
of him who returns evil for good.

¹¹Evildoers foster rebellion against God;
the messenger of death will be sent against them.

¹²Better to meet a bear robbed of her cubs
than a fool bent on folly.^(A)

¹³Evil will never leave the house
of one who pays back evil^(B) for good.^(C)
