³ But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, ⁴ that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret ^(A)will Himself reward you ^[a]openly.

³⁵ So David received from her hand what she had brought him, and said to her, ^(A)“Go up in peace to your house. See, I have heeded your voice and ^(B)respected your person.”

¹¹ And their father Israel said to them, “If it must be so, then do this: Take some of the best fruits of the land in your vessels and ^(A)carry down a present for the man—a little ^(B)balm and a little honey, spices and myrrh, pistachio nuts and almonds.
