²⁶ A wise king winnows out the wicked;
    he drives the threshing wheel over them.^(A)

⁸ When a king sits on his throne to judge,^(A)
    he winnows out all evil with his eyes.^(B)

⁵ Whoever slanders their neighbor^(A) in secret,
    I will put to silence;
whoever has haughty eyes^(B) and a proud heart,
    I will not tolerate.

⁶ My eyes will be on the faithful in the land,
    that they may dwell with me;
the one whose walk is blameless^(C)
    will minister to me.

⁷ No one who practices deceit
    will dwell in my house;
no one who speaks falsely
    will stand in my presence.

⁸ Every morning^(D) I will put to silence
    all the wicked^(E) in the land;
I will cut off every evildoer^(F)
    from the city of the Lord.^(G)

²⁷ Caraway is not threshed^(A) with a sledge,^(B)
    nor is the wheel of a cart rolled over cumin;
caraway is beaten out with a rod,^(C)
    and cumin with a stick.
²⁸ Grain must be ground to make bread;
    so one does not go on threshing it forever.
The wheels of a threshing cart^(D) may be rolled over it,
    but one does not use horses to grind grain.
