Philippian Generosity

¹⁰But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last ^(A)your^[a] care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity. ¹¹Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, ^(B)to be content: ¹²^(C)I know how to ^[b]be abased, and I know how to ^[c]abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. ¹³I can do all things ^(D)through ^[d]Christ who strengthens me.

¹⁴Nevertheless you have done well that ^(E)you shared in my distress. ¹⁵Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, ^(F)no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only. ¹⁶For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. ¹⁷Not that I seek the gift, but I seek ^(G)the fruit that abounds to your account. ¹⁸Indeed I ^[e]have all and abound. I am full, having received from ^(H)Epaphroditus the things sent from you, ^(I)a sweet-smelling aroma, ^(J)an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. ¹⁹And my God ^(K)shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. ²⁰^(L)Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.

David’s Praise to God

¹⁰Therefore David blessed the Lord before all the assembly; and David said:

“Blessed are You, Lord God of Israel, our Father, forever and ever.
¹¹^(A)Yours, O Lord, is the greatness,
The power and the glory,
The victory and the majesty;
For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O Lord,
And You are exalted as head over all.
¹²^(B)Both riches and honor come from You,
And You reign over all.
In Your hand is power and might;
In Your hand it is to make great
And to give strength to all.

¹³“Now therefore, our God,
We thank You
And praise Your glorious name.
¹⁴But who am I, and who are my people,
That we should be able to offer so willingly as this?
For all things come from You,
And ^[a]of Your own we have given You.
¹⁵For ^(C)we are ^[b]aliens and ^[c]pilgrims before You,
As were all our fathers;
^(D)Our days on earth are as a shadow,
And without hope.

¹⁶“O Lord our God, all this abundance that we have prepared to build You a house for Your holy name is from Your hand, and is all Your own. ¹⁷I know also, my God, that You ^(E)test the heart and ^(F)have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things; and now with joy I have seen Your people, who are present here to offer willingly to You. ¹⁸O Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the intent of the thoughts of the heart of Your people, and fix their heart toward You. ¹⁹And ^(G)give my son Solomon a loyal heart to keep Your commandments and Your testimonies and Your statutes, to do all these things, and to build the ^[d]temple for which ^(H)I have made provision.”

²⁰Then David said to all the assembly, “Now bless the Lord your God.” So all the assembly blessed the Lord God of their fathers, and bowed their heads and prostrated themselves before the Lord and the king.
