⁸ Indeed, I count everything as loss because of ^(A)the surpassing worth of ^(B)knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I ^(C)have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ ⁹ and be found in him, not having ^(D)a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but ^(E)that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith— ^10 (F)that I may know him and ^(G)the power of his resurrection, and ^(H)may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, ¹¹ that by any means possible I may ^(I)attain the resurrection from the dead.

Straining Toward the Goal

¹² Not that I have already ^(J)obtained this or ^(K)am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. ¹³ Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: ^(L)forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, ¹⁴ I press on toward the goal for ^(M)the prize of the upward ^(N)call of God in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ Let those of us who are ^(O)mature think this way, and if in anything ^(P)you think otherwise, ^(Q)God will reveal that also to you. ¹⁶ Only ^(R)let us hold true to what we have attained.

²⁸ And God blessed them. And God said to them, ^(B)“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” ²⁹ And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. ^(C)You shall have them for food. ³⁰ And ^(D)to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. ^31 (E)And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
