Psalm 23-25
New American Standard Bible
The Lord, the Psalmist’s Shepherd.
A Psalm of David.
23 The Lord is my (A)shepherd,
I will (B)not be in need.
2 He lets me lie down in (C)green pastures;
He (D)leads me beside [a](E)quiet waters.
3 He (F)restores my soul;
He (G)guides me in the [b](H)paths of righteousness
For the sake of His name.
4 Even though I (I)walk through the [c]valley of the shadow of death,
I (J)fear no [d]evil, for (K)You are with me;
Your (L)rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You (M)prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You [e]have (N)anointed my head with oil;
My (O)cup overflows.
6 [f]Certainly (P)goodness and [g]faithfulness will follow me all the days of my life,
And my (Q)dwelling will be in the house of the Lord [h]forever.
The King of Glory Entering Zion.
A Psalm of David.
24 The (R)earth is the Lord’s, and [i]all it contains,
The (S)world, and those who live in it.
2 For He has (T)founded it upon the seas
And established it upon the rivers.
3 Who may (U)ascend onto the (V)hill of the Lord?
And who may stand in His holy (W)place?
4 One who has (X)clean hands and a (Y)pure heart,
Who has not (Z)lifted up his soul to deceit
And has not (AA)sworn deceitfully.
5 He will receive a (AB)blessing from the Lord
And [j](AC)righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 [k]This is the generation of those who (AD)seek Him,
Who seek Your face—even Jacob. Selah
7 (AE)Lift up your heads, you gates,
And be lifted up, you [l]ancient doors,
That the King of (AF)glory may come in!
8 Who is the King of glory?
The Lord (AG)strong and mighty,
The Lord (AH)mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, you gates,
And lift them up, you [m]ancient doors,
That the King of (AI)glory may come in!
10 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of (AJ)armies,
He is the King of glory. Selah
Prayer for Protection, Guidance, and Pardon.
A Psalm of David.
25 To You, Lord, I (AK)lift up my soul.
2 My God, in You (AL)I trust,
Do not let me (AM)be ashamed;
Do not let my (AN)enemies rejoice over me.
3 Indeed, (AO)none of those who wait for You will be ashamed;
[n]Those who (AP)deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed.
4 (AQ)Make me know Your ways, Lord;
Teach me Your paths.
5 Lead me in (AR)Your truth and teach me,
For You are the (AS)God of my salvation;
For You I (AT)wait all the day.
6 (AU)Remember, Lord, Your compassion and Your faithfulness,
For they have been [o](AV)from of old.
7 Do not remember the (AW)sins of my youth or my wrongdoings;
(AX)Remember me according to Your faithfulness,
For Your (AY)goodness’ sake, Lord.
8 (AZ)The Lord is good and (BA)upright;
Therefore He (BB)instructs sinners in the way.
9 He (BC)leads the [p]humble in justice,
And He (BD)teaches the [q]humble His way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are (BE)faithfulness and truth
To (BF)those who comply with His covenant and His testimonies.
11 For the (BG)sake of Your name, Lord,
(BH)Forgive my wrongdoing, for it is great.
12 Who is the person who (BI)fears the Lord?
He will (BJ)instruct him in the way he should choose.
13 His soul will (BK)dwell in [r]prosperity,
And his [s]descendants will (BL)inherit the [t]land.
14 The [u](BM)secret of the Lord is for those who fear Him,
[v]And He will (BN)make them know His covenant.
15 My (BO)eyes are continually toward the Lord,
For He will [w](BP)rescue my feet from the net.
16 (BQ)Turn to me and be gracious to me,
For I am (BR)lonely and afflicted.
17 [x]The (BS)troubles of my heart are enlarged;
Bring me (BT)out of my distresses.
18 (BU)Look at my misery and my trouble,
And (BV)forgive all my sins.
19 Look at my enemies, for they (BW)are many,
And they (BX)hate me with violent hatred.
20 (BY)Guard my soul and save me;
Do not let me (BZ)be ashamed, for I take refuge in You.
21 Let (CA)integrity and uprightness protect me,
For (CB)I wait for You.
22 (CC)Redeem Israel, God,
From all his distress.
