9 I korero ano a Ihowa ki a Mohi i te koraha o Hinai, i te rua o nga tau o to ratou haerenga mai i te whenua o Ihipa, i te tahi o nga marama, i mea,
2 Me mahi ano te kapenga e nga tama a Iharaira i tona wa ano.
3 Me mahi i te tekau ma wha o nga ra o tenei marama, i te ahiahi, i tona wa ano: kia rite ki ona tikanga katoa, ki ona ritenga katoa, ta koutou meatanga.
4 Na ka korero a Mohi ki nga tama a Iharaira kia mahia te kapenga.
5 A ka mahia e ratou te kapenga i te tekau ma wha o nga ra o te marama tuatahi, i te ahiahi, i te koraha o Hinai: rite tonu ki nga mea katoa i whakahau ai a Ihowa ki a Mohi ta nga tama a Iharaira i mea ai.
6 Na tera etahi tangata i poke i te tupapaku, i kore ai e ahei te mahi i te kapenga i taua ra: na ka haere ratou ki te aroaro o Mohi raua ko Arona i taua ra;
7 A ka mea aua tangata ki a ia, Kua poke matou i te tupapaku: he aha matou te tukua ai ki te whakahere i te whakahere ma Ihowa i tona wa i rite ai, i roto i nga tama a Iharaira?
8 Na ka mea a Mohi ki a ratou, E tu koutou, a me whakarongo atu ahau ki to Ihowa e whakahau ai mo koutou.
9 A i korero a Ihowa ki a Mohi, i mea,
10 Korero ki nga tama a Iharaira, mea atu, Ki te poke i te tupapaku tetahi o koutou, o o koutou uri ranei, ki te mea ranei kei tawhiti e haere ana, me mahi ano e ia te kapenga ki a Ihowa.
11 Me mahi e ratou i te rua o nga marama, i te tekau ma wha o nga ra, i te ahiahi, me kinaki ki te taro rewenakore, ki nga puwha kawa:
12 Kaua tetahi wahi o tena mea e whakatoea e ratou mo te ata, kaua ano hoki e whatiia tetahi o ona wheua; kia rite ki nga tikanga katoa o te kapenga ta ratou mahinga i tena mahi.
13 Ko te tangata ia kahore ona poke, a kahore ano i te haere, a e mangere ana ki te mahi i te kapenga, ina, ka hatepea atu taua wairua i roto i tona iwi: kahore nei hoki i kawea e ia te whakahere ma Ihowa i tona wa i rite ai, ka waha e taua tangata tona hara.
14 A ki te noho he manene i roto i a koutou, a ka mea ki te mahi i te kapenga ki a Ihowa; kia rite ki nga tikanga o te kapenga, ki nga ritenga ano o taua mahi, tana e mea ai: kia kotahi ano ta koutou tikanga mo te manene raua ko te tangata whenua.
15 A i te ra i whakaarahia ai te tapenakara, ka taupokina te tapenakara e te kapua, ara te teneti o te whakaaturanga: a i te ahiahi i rite a runga o te tapenakara ki te ahua ahi, taea noatia te ata.
16 I pera tonu: i taupokina e te kapua i te awatea, e te ahua ahi hoki i te po.
17 Ka riro ake hoki te kapua i runga i te tapenakara, na, muri iho, ka haere nga tama a Iharaira: a i te wahi i tau ai te kapua ka whakaturia e nga tama a Iharaira o ratou teneti ki reira.
18 Na ko nga haerenga o nga tama a Iharaira na te whakahau a Ihowa, a ko o ratou nohoanga iho na te whakahau ano a Ihowa: i noho ano ratou i nga ra katoa i tau ai te kapua ki runga ki te tapenakara.
19 A ka maha nga ra i roa ai te kapua ki runga ki te tapenakara, na ka rite i nga tama a Iharaira ta Ihowa i whakarite ai, a kihai i haere.
20 A he wa ano i torutoru nga ra o te kapua ki runga ki te tapenakara; heoi na te whakahau a Ihowa ka noho ratou i o ratou teneti, a na te whakahau ano a Ihowa ka haere ratou.

23 Na te whakahau a Ihowa ta ratou noho, na te whakahau hoki a Ihowa ta ratou haere: i rite i a ratou ta Ihowa i whakarite ai, ta Ihowa i whakahau ai, i korerotia ai e Mohi.

Regler for påskehøjtiden
9 De følgende forskrifter gav Herren til Moses i årets første måned,[a] året efter, at israelitterne havde forladt Egypten. På det tidspunkt opholdt de sig endnu i Sinaiørkenen. Herren sagde:
2-3 „For fremtiden skal Israels folk hvert år fejre påske. På den 14. dag i årets første måned, når solen er gået ned, skal I holde højtid—og I må sørge for nøje at overholde alle mine befalinger for denne fest.”
4 Så bekendtgjorde Moses for folket, at Herren havde befalet, at de nu skulle fejre påskefesten. 5 Og festen blev fejret om aftenen på den 14. dag i den første måned efter alle de forskrifter, Herren havde givet. 6 Men den dag festen skulle begynde, var der nogle mænd, som var blevet urene efter at have rørt ved et lig. Derfor kunne de ikke komme med deres påskelam, som jo skulle slagtes ved alteret udenfor helligdommen før solnedgang. Disse mænd kom så til Moses og Aron 7 og sagde: „Vi er blevet urene ved et lig, så vi ikke kan træde frem for Herren. Hvorfor skal det hindre os i at bringe vores offergave til Herren på det fastsatte tidspunkt sammen med de andre israelitter?”
8 Moses svarede: „Vent til jeg hører, hvad Herren har at sige om det.” 9 Herrens svar til Moses lød:
10-11 „Sig til israelitterne: Hvis nogen af jer eller jeres efterkommere er urene, når påskedagen kommer, fordi I har været i berøring med lig, kan I fejre påske den følgende måned, dvs. ved aftenstid den 14. dag i årets anden måned. Det samme gælder, hvis I er ude på en lang rejse i den første måned. Den aften kan I så spise påskelammet sammen med det usyrnede brød og de bitre urter, 12 og I må ikke levne noget til næste morgen eller brække nogen af dyrets knogler. I skal på alle områder følge de normale regler for påskefesten.
13 Men hvis nogen ikke er på rejse og heller ikke er uren, men alligevel nægter at bringe et påskeoffer til Herren på det fastsatte tidspunkt, så skal den person udryddes. Han må bære straffen for sin ulydighed. 14 Hvis en af de fremmede, der bor iblandt jer, ønsker at fejre påske for Herren, skal han følge samme retningslinier som alle andre, for loven om påsken gælder både for indfødte israelitter og de fremmede iblandt jer.”
Skyen over helligdommen
15 Den dag, boligen blev rejst, sænkede en sky sig over teltet med pagtens ark, så det hele blev overdækket af skyen. Om aftenen forvandledes skyen til noget, der lignede ild, og den blev stående over boligen hele natten.
16 Sådan fortsatte det dag for dag: Om dagen lignede det en almindelig sky, og om natten lignede det en ildsky. 17 Når skyen flyttede sig, fulgte folket efter. Når den standsede, slog de lejr dér. 18-20 På den måde var det Herren, som bestemte, hvornår det var tid til opbrud, og hvornår det var tid til at slå lejr. Så længe skyen blev stående, brød folket ikke op—uanset om det var nogle få dage, eller det var i længere tid, for sådan ønskede Herren det. 21 Somme tider blev skyen kun stående en enkelt nat, og så snart det blev morgen, løftede den sig. Til andre tider blev den stående hele den næste dag og natten med, 22 eller den blev stående i to hele dage, en måned eller i længere tid. Uanset tidsrummet blev Israels folk boende i lejren så længe skyen forblev over boligen, og de brød op, når skyen løftede sig. 23 Herren bestemte, hvornår det var tid at slå lejr, og hvornår det var tid at bryde op—og folket fulgte alle de befalinger, Herren havde givet Moses.

The Passover
9 The Lord spoke to Moses in the Desert of Sinai in the first month(A) of the second year after they came out of Egypt.(B) He said, 2 “Have the Israelites celebrate the Passover(C) at the appointed time.(D) 3 Celebrate it at the appointed time, at twilight on the fourteenth day of this month,(E) in accordance with all its rules and regulations.(F)”
4 So Moses told the Israelites to celebrate the Passover,(G) 5 and they did so in the Desert of Sinai(H) at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month.(I) The Israelites did everything just as the Lord commanded Moses.(J)
6 But some of them could not celebrate the Passover on that day because they were ceremonially unclean(K) on account of a dead body.(L) So they came to Moses and Aaron(M) that same day 7 and said to Moses, “We have become unclean because of a dead body, but why should we be kept from presenting the Lord’s offering with the other Israelites at the appointed time?(N)”
8 Moses answered them, “Wait until I find out what the Lord commands concerning you.”(O)
9 Then the Lord said to Moses, 10 “Tell the Israelites: ‘When any of you or your descendants are unclean because of a dead body(P) or are away on a journey, they are still to celebrate(Q) the Lord’s Passover, 11 but they are to do it on the fourteenth day of the second month(R) at twilight. They are to eat the lamb, together with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.(S) 12 They must not leave any of it till morning(T) or break any of its bones.(U) When they celebrate the Passover, they must follow all the regulations.(V) 13 But if anyone who is ceremonially clean and not on a journey fails to celebrate the Passover, they must be cut off from their people(W) for not presenting the Lord’s offering at the appointed time. They will bear the consequences of their sin.
14 “‘A foreigner(X) residing among you is also to celebrate the Lord’s Passover in accordance with its rules and regulations. You must have the same regulations for both the foreigner and the native-born.’”
The Cloud Above the Tabernacle
15 On the day the tabernacle, the tent of the covenant law,(Y) was set up,(Z) the cloud(AA) covered it. From evening till morning the cloud above the tabernacle looked like fire.(AB) 16 That is how it continued to be; the cloud covered it, and at night it looked like fire.(AC) 17 Whenever the cloud lifted from above the tent, the Israelites set out;(AD) wherever the cloud settled, the Israelites encamped.(AE) 18 At the Lord’s command the Israelites set out, and at his command they encamped. As long as the cloud stayed over the tabernacle, they remained(AF) in camp. 19 When the cloud remained over the tabernacle a long time, the Israelites obeyed the Lord’s order(AG) and did not set out.(AH) 20 Sometimes the cloud was over the tabernacle only a few days; at the Lord’s command they would encamp, and then at his command they would set out. 21 Sometimes the cloud stayed only from evening till morning, and when it lifted in the morning, they set out. Whether by day or by night, whenever the cloud lifted, they set out. 22 Whether the cloud stayed over the tabernacle for two days or a month or a year, the Israelites would remain in camp and not set out; but when it lifted, they would set out. 23 At the Lord’s command they encamped, and at the Lord’s command they set out. They obeyed the Lord’s order, in accordance with his command through Moses.
