The Adultery Test
11 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 12 “Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘If any man’s wife (A)goes astray and is unfaithful to him, 13 and a man has (B)sexual relations with her and it is hidden from the eyes of her husband and she remains undiscovered, although she has defiled herself, and there is no witness against her and she has not been caught in the act, 14 [a]if [b]an attitude of (C)jealousy comes over him and he is jealous of his wife when she has defiled herself, or if [c]an attitude of jealousy comes over him and he is jealous of his wife when she has not defiled herself, 15 the man shall then bring his wife to the priest, and shall bring as [d]an offering for her a tenth of an [e]ephah of barley meal; he shall not pour oil on it nor put frankincense on it, because it is a grain offering of jealousy, a grain offering of reminder, (D)a reminder of wrongdoing.

39 “(A)But [a]be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have allowed his house to be (B)broken into. 40 (C)You too, be ready; because the Son of Man is coming at an hour that you do not think He will.”
41 Peter said, “Lord, are You telling this parable to us, or (D)to everyone else as well?” 42 And (E)the Lord said, “(F)Who then is the faithful and sensible (G)steward, whom his master will put in charge of his servants, to give them their rations at the proper time? 43 Blessed is that (H)slave whom his [b]master finds so doing when he comes. 44 Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 45 But if that slave says in his heart, ‘My master will take a long time to come,’ and he begins to beat the other slaves, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk; 46 then the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect, and at an hour that he does not know, and will [c]cut him in two, and assign [d]him a place with the unbelievers.
