³³Then Moses gave to the Gadites,^(A) the Reubenites and the half-tribe of Manasseh^(B) son of Joseph the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites^(C) and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan^(D)—the whole land with its cities and the territory around them.^(E)

Division of the Land East of the Jordan

⁸The other half of Manasseh,^[a] the Reubenites and the Gadites had received the inheritance that Moses had given them east of the Jordan, as he, the servant of the Lord, had assigned^(A) it to them.^(B)

⁹It extended from Aroer^(C) on the rim of the Arnon Gorge, and from the town in the middle of the gorge, and included the whole plateau^(D) of Medeba as far as Dibon,^(E) ¹⁰and all the towns of Sihon king of the Amorites, who ruled in Heshbon,^(F) out to the border of the Ammonites.^(G) ¹¹It also included Gilead,^(H) the territory of the people of Geshur and Maakah, all of Mount Hermon and all Bashan as far as Salekah^(I)— ¹²that is, the whole kingdom of Og in Bashan,^(J) who had reigned in Ashtaroth^(K) and Edrei.^(L) (He was the last of the Rephaites.^(M)) Moses had defeated them and taken over their land.^(N)
