⁷ They are to perform duties for^[a] him and the entire community before the tent of meeting by attending to the service of the tabernacle.

⁴ They are to join you and guard the tent of meeting, doing all the work at the tent, but no unauthorized person may come near you.

⁵ “You are to guard the sanctuary and the altar so that wrath may not fall on the Israelites again.^(A)

³² They are to carry out their responsibilities for the tent of meeting, for the holy place,^(A) and for their relatives, the sons of Aaron,^(B) in the service of the Lord’s temple.”

The Priests’ Duties and Privileges

¹⁵ “But the Levitical priests descended from Zadok,^(A) who kept charge of My sanctuary when the Israelites went astray from Me, will approach Me to serve Me. They will stand before Me to offer Me fat and blood.” This is the declaration of the Lord God. ¹⁶ “They are the ones who may enter My sanctuary^(B) and draw near to My table to serve Me.^(C) They will keep My mandate.
