Daily Offerings

28 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, “Command the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘You shall [a]be careful to bring near My offering, My (A)food for My offerings by fire, of a soothing aroma to Me, at their appointed time.’ (B)And you shall say to them, ‘This is the offering by fire which you shall bring near to Yahweh: two male lambs one year old without blemish as a continual burnt offering every day. You shall offer the one lamb in the morning, and the other lamb you shall offer [b]at twilight, also (C)a tenth of an [c]ephah of fine flour for a (D)grain offering, mixed with a fourth of a [d]hin of beaten oil. It is a continual burnt offering which was ordained in Mount Sinai as a soothing aroma, an offering by fire to Yahweh. Then the drink offering with it shall be a fourth of a hin for each lamb, (E)in the holy place you shall pour out a drink offering of strong drink to Yahweh. And the other lamb you shall offer [e]at twilight; as the grain offering of the morning and as its drink offering, you shall offer it, an offering by fire, a soothing aroma to Yahweh.

Sabbath Offerings

‘Then on the sabbath day two male lambs one year old without blemish, and two-tenths of an [f]ephah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering, and its drink offering: 10 This is the burnt offering of every sabbath in addition to the (F)continual burnt offering and its drink offering.

Monthly Offerings

11 ‘Then (G)at the beginning of each of your months you shall bring near a burnt offering to Yahweh: two bulls from the herd and one ram, seven male lambs one year old without blemish; 12 (H)and three-tenths of an [g]ephah of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering, for each bull; and two-tenths of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering, for the one ram; 13 and a tenth of an [h]ephah of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering for each lamb, for a burnt offering of a soothing aroma, an offering by fire to Yahweh. 14 And their drink offerings shall be half a hin of wine for a bull and a third of a hin for the ram and a fourth of a hin for a lamb; this is the burnt offering of each month throughout the months of the year. 15 And one male goat for a sin offering to Yahweh; it shall be offered with its drink offering in addition to the (I)continual burnt offering.

Passover Offerings

16 (J)Then on the fourteenth day of the first month shall be the Passover of Yahweh. 17 (K)And on the fifteenth day of this month shall be a (L)feast; unleavened bread shall be eaten for seven days. 18 On the (M)first day shall be a holy convocation; you shall do no laborious work. 19 And you shall bring near an offering by fire, a burnt offering to Yahweh: two bulls from the herd and one ram and seven male lambs one year old; (N)they shall be for you without blemish. 20 Now as for their grain offering, you shall offer fine flour mixed with oil: three-tenths of an [i]ephah for a bull and two-tenths for the ram. 21 A tenth of an [j]ephah you shall offer for [k]each of the seven lambs; 22 and one male goat for a (O)sin offering to make atonement for you. 23 You shall offer these besides (P)the burnt offering of the morning, which is for a continual burnt offering. 24 After this manner you shall offer daily, for seven days, (Q)the food of the offering by fire, of a soothing aroma to Yahweh; it shall be offered with its drink offering in addition to the (R)continual burnt offering. 25 Now on the seventh day you shall have a holy convocation; (S)you shall do no laborious work.

Offerings for the Feast of Weeks

26 ‘Also on (T)the day of the first fruits, when you bring near a new grain offering to Yahweh in your Feast of Weeks, you shall have a holy convocation; (U)you shall do no laborious work. 27 And you shall bring near a burnt offering for a soothing aroma to Yahweh: two bulls from the herd, one ram, seven male lambs one year old; 28 and their grain offering, fine flour mixed with oil: three-tenths of an [l]ephah for each bull, two-tenths for the one ram, 29 a tenth for [m]each of the seven lambs; 30 also one male goat to make atonement for you. 31 (V)Besides the continual burnt offering and its grain offering, you shall offer them with their drink offerings. They shall be [n]without blemish.

17 ‘Then on (AH)the second day: twelve bulls from the herd, two rams, fourteen male lambs one year old without blemish; 18 and their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the rams and for the lambs, by their number (AI)according to the legal judgment; 19 and one male goat for a sin offering, (AJ)besides the continual burnt offering and its grain offering and their drink offerings.

35 (AL)On the eighth day you shall have a solemn assembly; you shall do no laborious work. 36 But you shall bring near a burnt offering, an offering by fire, as a soothing aroma to Yahweh: one bull, one ram, seven male lambs one year old without blemish; 37 their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bull, for the ram and for the lambs, by their number according to the legal judgment; 38 and one male goat for a sin offering, besides the continual burnt offering and its grain offering and its drink offering.

39 ‘You shall offer these to Yahweh at your (AM)appointed times, besides your [u]votive offerings and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings and for your grain offerings and for your drink offerings and for your peace offerings.’” 40 [v]And Moses spoke to the sons of Israel according to all that Yahweh had commanded Moses.

The Statutes for Vows

30 Then Moses spoke to (AN)the heads of the tribes of the sons of Israel, saying, “This is the word which Yahweh has commanded. (AO)If a man makes a vow to Yahweh or swears an oath to bind himself with a binding obligation, he shall not violate his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.

“Also if a woman makes a vow to Yahweh and binds herself by an obligation in her father’s house in her youth, and her father hears her vow and her obligation by which she has bound herself, and her father [w]says nothing to her, then all her vows shall stand, and every obligation by which she has bound herself shall stand. But if her father should forbid her on the day he hears of it, none of her vows or her obligations by which she has bound herself shall stand; and Yahweh will pardon her because her father had forbidden her.

“However, if she should [x]marry while [y]under her vows or the rash statement of her lips by which she has bound herself, and her husband hears of it and says nothing to her on the day he hears it, then her vows shall stand, and her obligations by which she has bound herself shall stand. But if, on the day her husband hears of it, he forbids her, then he shall annul her vow which [z]she is under and the rash statement of her lips by which she has bound herself; and Yahweh will pardon her.

“But the vow of a widow or of a divorced woman, everything by which she has bound herself, shall stand against her. 10 However, if she vowed in her husband’s house or bound herself by an obligation with an oath, 11 and her husband heard it but said nothing to her and did not forbid her, then all her vows shall stand, and every obligation by which she bound herself shall stand. 12 But if her husband indeed annuls them on the day he hears them, then whatever proceeds out of her lips concerning her vows or concerning the obligation of herself shall not stand; her husband has annulled them, and Yahweh will pardon her.

13 “Every vow and every binding oath to humble herself, her husband may cause it to stand, or her husband may annul it. 14 But if her husband indeed says nothing to her from day to day, then he causes all her vows or all her obligations which are on her to stand; he has caused them to stand because he said nothing to her on the day he heard them. 15 But if he indeed annuls them after he has heard them, then he shall bear her guilt.”

16 These are the statutes which Yahweh commanded Moses, as between a man and his wife, and as between a father and his daughter, while she is in her youth in her father’s house.

22 And they *came to (A)Bethsaida. And they *brought a blind man to Jesus and *pleaded with Him to (B)touch him. 23 And taking the blind man by the hand, He (C)brought him out of the village; and after (D)spitting on his eyes and (E)laying His hands on him, He was asking him, “Do you see anything?” 24 And he [a]looked up and was saying, “I see men, for [b]I see them like trees, walking around.” 25 Then again He laid His hands on his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and began to see everything clearly. 26 And He sent him to his home, saying, “Do not even enter (F)the village.”

Peter Confesses Jesus Is the Christ

27 (G)And Jesus went out, along with His disciples, to the villages of (H)Caesarea Philippi; and on the way He was asking His disciples, saying to them, “Who do people say that I am?” 28 (I)And they told Him, saying, “John the Baptist; and others say Elijah; but others, one of the prophets.” 29 And He continued asking them, “But who do you say that I am?” (J)Peter *answered and *said to Him, “You are the [c]Christ.” 30 And (K)He [d]warned them to tell no one about Him.

31 (L)And He began to teach them that (M)the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. 32 And He was stating the matter (N)openly. And Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. 33 But turning around and seeing His disciples, He rebuked Peter and *said, “Get behind Me, (O)Satan! For you are not setting your mind on [e]God’s interests, but man’s.”

Take Up Your Cross

34 And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to [f]come after Me, he must deny himself, and (P)take up his cross and follow Me. 35 For (Q)whoever wishes to save his [g]life will lose it, but whoever loses his [h]life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? 37 For what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 For (R)whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, (S)the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He (T)comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
