¹⁷ who will go out before them and come back in before them,^(A) and who will bring them out and bring them in, so that the Lord’s community won’t be like sheep without a shepherd.”^(B)

¹⁷ So Micaiah said:

² “Therefore, this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says about the shepherds who tend my people: You have scattered my flock,^(A) banished them, and have not attended to them.^(B) I am about to attend to you because of your evil acts”—this is the Lord’s declaration.

³⁶ When he saw the crowds, he felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dejected,^(A) like sheep without a shepherd.^(B)
