⁵⁵ “Notwithstanding, the land shall be divided by lot. They shall inherit according to the names of the tribes of their fathers.

⁵⁶ “According to the lot shall its possession be divided between many and few.”

⁵⁷ These also are the numbers of the Levites, after their families: Gershon (of whom came the family of the Gershonites), Kohath (of whom came the family of the Kohathites), Merari (of whom came the family of the Merarites).
