¹⁶From there they continued on to Beer, which is where the Lord spoke to Moses saying, “Gather up the people and I will give them water.”

¹⁷Then Israel sang this song,

“Spring up, O well! Sing to it!
¹⁸The well which the leaders dug,
which the nobles of the people sank,
with the scepter and with their staves.”
