³ They named the place “Burning,”^[a] because in his anger the Lord had set their camp on fire.

⁷ The people had complained and tested the Lord by asking, “Is the Lord really with us?” So Moses named that place Massah, which means “testing” and Meribah, which means “complaining.”

³⁴ After they had buried the people who had been so greedy for meat, they called the place “Graves for the Greedy.”^[a]
