²⁹ Now Moses said to ^(A)Hobab the son of ^(B)Reuel^[a] the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are setting out for the place of which the Lord said, ^(C)‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and ^(D)we will treat you well; for ^(E)the Lord has promised good things to Israel.”

³⁰ And he said to him, “I will not go, but I will depart to my own land and to my relatives.”

³¹ So Moses said, “Please do not leave, inasmuch as you know how we are to camp in the wilderness, and you can ^[b]be our ^(F)eyes. ³² And it shall be, if you go with us—indeed it shall be—that ^(G)whatever good the Lord will do to us, the same we will do to you.”

¹¹ Now Heber ^(A)the Kenite, of the children of ^(B)Hobab the father-in-law of Moses, had separated himself from the Kenites and pitched his tent near the terebinth tree at Zaanaim, ^(C)which is beside Kedesh.

¹⁷ However, Sisera had fled away on foot to the tent of ^(A)Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite; for there was peace between Jabin king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.

⁶ Then Saul said to ^(A)the Kenites, ^(B)“Go, depart, get down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them. For ^(C)you showed kindness to all the children of Israel when they came up out of Egypt.” So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.

⁵⁵ And the families of the scribes who dwelt at Jabez were the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and the Suchathites. These were the ^(A)Kenites who came from Hammath, the father of the house of ^(B)Rechab.
