⁵ Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ⁶ “^(A)Bring the tribe of Levi near and set them before Aaron the priest, that they may serve him. ⁷ They shall perform the duties for ^[a]him and for the whole congregation before the tent of meeting, to do the ^(B)service of the tabernacle. ⁸ They shall also keep all the furnishings of the tent of meeting, along with the duties of the sons of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle. ⁹ You shall thus ^(C)give the Levites to Aaron and to his sons; they are wholly given to him from among the sons of Israel. ¹⁰ So you shall appoint Aaron and his sons that ^(D)they may keep their priesthood, but ^(E)the ^[b]layman who comes near shall be put to death.”

Portion of the Levites

18 “^(A)The Levitical priests, the whole tribe of Levi, shall have no portion or inheritance with Israel; they shall eat the Lord’s offerings by fire and His ^[a]portion.

⁸ “^(A)Be careful against ^[a]an infection of leprosy, that you diligently observe and do according to all that the Levitical priests teach you; as I have commanded them, so you shall be careful to do.

³ and they commanded the people, saying, “When you see the ^(A)ark of the covenant of the Lord your God with the Levitical priests carrying it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it.

Ordinances for the Levites

¹⁵ “But the ^(A)Levitical priests, the sons of ^(B)Zadok, who ^(C)kept charge of My sanctuary when the sons of Israel ^(D)went astray from Me, shall come near to Me to minister to Me; and they shall ^(E)stand before Me to offer Me the ^(F)fat and the blood,” declares the Lord God.
