¹⁰ “Tell the Israelites: ‘When any of you or your descendants are unclean because of a dead body^(A) or are away on a journey, they are still to celebrate^(B) the Lord’s Passover,

⁶ This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs^(A) together with Israel, members together of one body,^(B) and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.^(C)

⁷ I became a servant of this gospel^(D) by the gift of God’s grace given me^(E) through the working of his power.^{(F) 8} Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people,^(G) this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles^(H) the boundless riches of Christ,^{(I) 9} and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery,^(J) which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.

¹² remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners^(A) to the covenants of the promise,^(B) without hope^(C) and without God in the world. ¹³ But now in Christ Jesus you who once^(D) were far away have been brought near^(E) by the blood of Christ.^(F)

Made Alive in Christ

2 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,^{(A) 2} in which you used to live^(B) when you followed the ways of this world^(C) and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air,^(D) the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.^(E)

²⁸ Everyone ought to examine themselves^(A) before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup.

⁹ Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God?^(A) Do not be deceived:^(B) Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers^(C) nor men who have sex with men^{[a](D) 10} nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers^(E) will inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And that is what some of you were.^(F) But you were washed,^(G) you were sanctified,^(H) you were justified^(I) in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

²⁵ Now to him who is able^(A) to establish you in accordance with my gospel,^(B) the message I proclaim about Jesus Christ, in keeping with the revelation of the mystery^(C) hidden for long ages past, ²⁶ but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings^(D) by the command of the eternal God, so that all the Gentiles might come to the obedience that comes from^[a] faith^(E)—

⁸ For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews^[a](A) on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises^(B) made to the patriarchs might be confirmed ⁹ and, moreover, that the Gentiles^(C) might glorify God^(D) for his mercy. As it is written:

¹⁰ Again, it says,

¹¹ And again,

¹² And again, Isaiah says,

¹³ May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace^(J) as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.^(K)

Paul the Minister to the Gentiles

¹⁴ I myself am convinced, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness,^(L) filled with knowledge^(M) and competent to instruct one another. ¹⁵ Yet I have written you quite boldly on some points to remind you of them again, because of the grace God gave me^{(N) 16} to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles.^(O) He gave me the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God,^(P) so that the Gentiles might become an offering^(Q) acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁷ Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus^(R) in my service to God.^{(S) 18} I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles^(T) to obey God^(U) by what I have said and done— ¹⁹ by the power of signs and wonders,^(V) through the power of the Spirit of God.^(W) So from Jerusalem^(X) all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.^(Y)
