⁷ “The daughters of Zelophehad speak what is right; ^(A)you shall surely give them a possession of inheritance among their father’s brothers, and cause the inheritance of their father to pass to them.

^28 (A)There is neither Jew nor Greek, ^(B)there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all ^(C)one in Christ Jesus.

⁴ And they came near before ^(A)Eleazar the priest, before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the rulers, saying, ^(B)“The Lord commanded Moses to give us an ^[a]inheritance among our brothers.” Therefore, according to the commandment of the Lord, he gave them an inheritance among their father’s brothers.

Marriage of Female Heirs

36 Now the chief fathers of the families of the ^(A)children of Gilead the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near and ^(B)spoke before Moses and before the leaders, the chief fathers of the children of Israel. ² And they said: ^(C)“The Lord commanded my lord Moses to give the land as an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel, and ^(D)my lord was commanded by the Lord to give the inheritance of our brother Zelophehad to his daughters.
