Balaam’s First Prophecy

⁴¹ So it was, the next day, that Balak took Balaam and brought him up to the ^(A)high places of Baal, that from there he might observe ^[a]the extent of the people.

Balaam’s Second Prophecy

¹³ Then Balak said to him, “Please come with me to another place from which you may see them; you shall see only the outer part of them, and shall not see them all; curse them for me from there.”

^15 (A)Then he appointed for himself priests for the ^[a]high places, for ^(B)the demons, and ^(C)the calf idols which he had made.

^2 (A)You shall utterly destroy all the places where the nations which you shall dispossess served their gods, ^(B)on the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree.

^2 (A)They invited the people to ^(B)the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and ^(C)bowed down to their gods. ³ So Israel was joined to Baal of Peor, and ^(D)the anger of the Lord was aroused against Israel.
