^41 (A)I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God: I am the Lord your God.”

³³ who brought you out of the land of Egypt ^(A)to be your God: I am the Lord.”

⁹ But you are ^(A)a chosen race, ^(B)a royal ^(C)priesthood, ^(D)a holy nation, ^(E)a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you ^(F)out of darkness into ^(G)his marvelous light. ^10 (H)Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

¹⁶ But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed ^(A)to be called their God, for ^(B)he has prepared for them a city.

^25 (A)I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from ^(B)all your uncleannesses, and ^(C)from all your idols ^(D)I will cleanse you. ²⁶ And I will give you ^(E)a new heart, and ^(F)a new spirit I will put within you. ^(G)And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. ^27 (H)And I will put my Spirit within you, ^(I)and cause you to walk in my statutes and ^(J)be careful to obey my rules.^[a]

^37 (A)Behold, I will gather them from all the countries ^(B)to which I drove them in ^(C)my anger and my wrath and in great indignation. I will bring them back to this place, ^(D)and I will make them dwell in safety. ^38 (E)And they shall be my people, and I will be their God. ^39 (F)I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me forever, ^(G)for their own good and the good of their children after them. ^40 (H)I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them. ^(I)And I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me. ^41 (J)I will rejoice in doing them good, ^(K)and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul.

The New Covenant

^31 (A)“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make ^(B)a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, ³² not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when ^(C)I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, ^(D)though I was their husband, declares the Lord. ^33 (E)For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: ^(F)I will put my law within them, and I will write it ^(G)on their hearts. ^(H)And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

^38 (A)I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.
